Sounds like you need to adjust the throttle trim on your transmitter and adjust the idle screw on the carb.
I assume you have a Savage?
Keep searching. You will figure it out.
@Scrog..I will be running an STS .30 w 15/47 gearing.
They truck really rips. I just got to the gallon mark on the engine. I too am concerned about the gear durability. This engine has broken everything at least once in this drive train. First the diffs then the dog bones and most recently I...
I was tired of splitting my savage to adjust the 1st-2nd gear in my 3 speed tranny. I know an X style easy access case is available but this still seems like a significant amount of work.
So I made 1st-2nd externally adjustable….Heres how.
Disassembled the tranny (last time I hope) and...
I have a Nitro MT w a TRX 2.5, 2 speed trans, Aluminum shocks, MIP shiny CVD's and an aftermarket pipe.
It was my first nitro and I love it. Clocked at 42 mph last fall.
Good luck.
Had beautiful weather today. Had some issues with my 1:1 truck fixed it then bashed a bit for the first time this year. Time to turn the STS .30 loose…I broke it in last fall and turned it loose…less than a half tank I ripped the rear diff out. So fresh diffs installed and fresh...
Or........Use your wife's GPS and strap it to your truck. WOOOT.
I did it with my HPI Nitro Racer...42 mph by the way. It does add some wieght and huge paranoia of crashing and breaking it. I wrapped it in foam and rubber banded it to the truck.
I am planning on checking my Savage the...

I just purchased two complete X differential set-ups from Nitronutzz on ebay.
Like these...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=310022900157&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=021
They seem really stiff. I know they are brand new and can see they have been shimmed well, but the...
I'm sure they make better/stronger ones. One of the tips I have seen is to put a small washer on them to keep them from popping off. I have had a few pop off and I just snap back on.
Be aware that if you put washer or stronger rod ends on, something else may break instead.

Finally got through the break-in on my STS D30 and wouldn't you know...less than one tank of fuel and a few wheelies I now have a broken rear diff.
The R/P still looks ok. If you look at the pic closely you can see the diff housing has a big bulge and a hole in it where it tried to throw out...
OK...ripped my rear diff out....to go with this mod I need 2 of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/CEN-Genesis-Nemesis-GST-7-7-Rear-Differential-Diff_W0QQitemZ220143291742QQihZ012QQcategoryZ44029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
a drill bit and some shim stock?
I read the thread..just wanna...
Good information. I am looking for an actual transmission gear ration chart as well...specifically for a 3 speed. My rig has big tires and I am looking to calculate my final drive all the way through...from the clutch bell to the ground.
Can't seem to find anywhere.
Thanks

It was moving the truck.....for awhile. LOL.. Heres my story..got the truck used and ran it with an OFNA Force 21 for about a week...then put in the STS D30M and started breakin....OBV the slipper was to loose for the STS but with the force it never slipped....I never checked it..my bad...
OK...just running around the yard burnin gas to break in my engine....then it sounded funny and had alot of white smoke...before I could even stop... the spur completely separated from the shaft.
Here it is...
Not sure how this happens when not really bashing just cruizing.

Well...I broke my pull start..it wouldnt spool back up. So I disassembled to find I pulled the knot half way through the hole and caused it to bind. I was certain that I wan't pulling it too far...guess not. Anyway it may or may not be repairable.
So I modified a 7/16 driver bit to fit...
