Had beautiful weather today. Had some issues with my 1:1 truck fixed it then bashed a bit for the first time this year. Time to turn the STS .30 loose…I broke it in last fall and turned it loose…less than a half tank I ripped the rear diff out. So fresh diffs installed and fresh motor…lets bash.

Pics, Video and broken parts below.

Shhhhhhhhh, Don’t tell the wife I borrowed her GPS.

I must say I am a little disappointed at only 37 mph….I put the HS 3rd gear in over the winter…not sure if its pulling it or not….plus my gearing is uber low…how about 14/49, But an almost 14lb truck with 40s I guess 37mph is hauling the mail. I am going to make sure its pulling 3rd gear and sometime pick up a 47 spur and a 15 or 16 CB.

Clearly I am due for a spur anyway. The mesh was good..I heard strip on a jump landing.

Here is my previous smoked spur…..I get all I can out of them I guess.

All in all a fun day…got about 3 tanks through.

Good Stuff .. I bet you could push 45 if you run a sts pipe .. That ribbed pipe is not the pipe for that engine.. With that engine I would run 47/17 or 18

Wow, 14/49. Your truck must flip at the slightest blip of the throttle. I'm running 18/49 combo and the sts has no problem flipping over with that tall of a gear.

Like jester said, a new pipe will help a lot. The sts0702 or jp-2 have been known good pipes for that engine. That ribbed pipe is to give some low end grunt to the old stock .21s and .25s. The sts mills don't need any help on the bottom.
