do you thi

do you think i should cut out a small hole with rounded corners in my windsheild for engine cooling? plus lets the engine breath in fresh outside air and lets the head flow through the body? with my mgt i had to cut a hole in the front windsheild for ventalation. whats your opinion in ventelation on the savage x?

It's not absolutely necessary. That being said, I've done it to my Savage and having more air flow is never a bad thing.

With my body's I always cut a rectangle in the windshield from top to bottom and from passenger side to the center of the windshield I run in 90 to 100 degree heat so that's what I have always done

yeah i don't really know what i was thinking...other than it looks better not cut out.i got my first nitro rc truck back in 2001.and had electrics for many years before that.it was an rc10gt.lol and for as many years as i can remember i always had a cut out in the front windsheild for cooling. why i was thinking this savage was going to be any diffrent? was probly a dumb question anyways.lol i just read online a bunch of folks not cutting windshelds out and saying they have no issues. but my luck it will over heat my brand new rig.lol so ill cut a little hole and go from there. thanks guys

Yes clutch Bell and clutches probably run a little cooler too I'd rather be safe than sorry when I'm out running last year i is running in 103 degree weather but then I just take the body off

yeah i hear ya there, weather was very nice here in michigan yesterday.so after work i decided to run another tank in my new savage with the lrp 32 engine. so that makes tank #3 for the savage with the new LRP engine. actually it makes tank #3 on the whole truck because i never really ran it before.man i am here to tell ya...that lrp 32 engine is so awsome. so much power it is unreal! barly throttling it around and it just has loads of torque and speed. plus it runs so good..i cant wait till its completly broken in so i can tune it for performance. i think this lrp engine is going to be just as good an engine is the os 18 i got in my rc10gt2!! that os engine is the best engine i ever owned to date. runs at 195 degrees in 85 degree weather..starts right up, idles all day..never have to retune it and has so much power its unreal.(even though i know i can lean it a whole lot more for even greater performace!) but why? it already pulling wheelies at almost any speed and temps are 195.that engines going to last for ever i can tell! and i can already tell this LRP ZR32 is going to be the same way..it already runs cooler than id like it too but I'm still I'm break in stages

that is good to hear, I broke in a lrp .28 spec 3 last spring, used a gallon breaking it in and had problems with the half tank lean issue when tuned, I was so frustrated I sold the motor.

Out with the in with the new!

well , been working on tuning my savage x today after break in, think I got it about there, it hit 80 degree s today , running good at 180, with body off and windy so with body on probably be where it needs to be, ran some break in tanks through sons buggy, now I will be tearing in to my standby 3 speed, to see whats wrong with drive gear, hope to figure it out quick, and cheap. always good to have a good 3 speed cluster standing by in pit tool box !

Oh ydah!! I still got my 3 speed on order lhs said late March don't know if I should even go with the 3 speed yet. Still tring to decide. Seems.plemtg.fast.with the world speed.but I hadn't tuned new 3w engine for performance get.still just running it breaking in rich mode lol and putting around.burping throttle.once in a while.

Yes my truck is too fast, I have the new 29/9 gears installed and the 3 speed, so I put in 15 clutch and a 52 tooth, .spur, still a little too fast, for track and bmx tracks,

what fuel do you run? i tried just about every kind of fuel in my mgt 8.0.lol but it seems to run best with odonnell speed blend 20%. I'm also breaking my LRP 32 in with odonnel speed blend 20.but for my t maxx and my rc10gt2 i run blue thunder 20% sport blend. thoes small blocks like that blue thunder in my opinion.atleast my OS18CVR-X and TRX2.5 engines do.my savage seems to run very nice with the odonnell fuel. i havnt tuned for performance yet because i only for 4 tanks ran through it so far. and i can still feel the pinch is still tight

I just bought carbon fiber shock towers and body mounts, just need posts if anyone has any

That is really a nice looking said if you have it almost looks like a racing truggy autogrip really good and turned good I've been kind of leaning my truck towards that way so it will handle better on a track just want to be kind of in the middle of good ground clearance and just a little bit lower.I like what you did with it!

Thanks! I had a fair share of carnage experience while I was still in a 'backyard bashing' phase and thought of going the other way which is into race set-up....good thing our local track have recreational races and MTs are included in the class so it was perfect and convenient timing :)
