Had the idea of using Tekno Truggy Arms on my Savage...what a masterpiece The width is wider and I don’t have to install any wheel hub extenders. Steering throw has also improved a lot:

Nice! Not much savage left to it! Did you use everything from the hinge pins on out? Those carriers don't appear to be HPI either. Did you have to mod the arms or shim them to fit? What shocks are you running, seem short, but could be just the mounting point on the arms. I have so many questions!?!?!? Got a build thread?

I just installed a new 9T pinion in my front diff... landed hard off a jump and took a tooth out. I stopped before the ring gear was damaged. Wasn't able to find any pinions alone listed on ebay, so ended up getting a sintered 29T ring gear and the pinion for $22. I guess beggars can't be choosers. lol

Carl, nice work on the arm swap. You need to do a right up for others to see in either the build section or suspension section. Explain how you did it and any modificationsyou had to do to make them work, pics of the mods if you had to make any, and what all parts you used or will need to do the swap. I'm sure alot of other members would really appreciate it.

And also, I think there was a member in the past who made some hellfire arms/suspension work on the savage.

Did you use the Tekno dogbones as well? Looks like a nice setup.

If you get a moment, maybe post this mod up in its own thread in the chassis and drivetrain section. That way more people can easily find it.

Nicely done @carldav, I wouldn't have thought about using Tekno A-Arms, but those things look tough!

I agree with this as well, this is great info that needs to be shared with more people!

Got through 3/4 tank of fuel with my 4 year old before we broke the left rear axle snapped it right off when it landed went from 4 wheel drive to front wheel drive don't work very well but does look funny to watch it do front wheel burnouts lol

Wasn't today, but I broke it twice yesterday. Snapped one shock ball end in half (has been a while since I did that last) and busted a tooth out of my pinion in the front diff.

Was a good day for the most part. Very hot out (95F/70% humidity) and I think we beat on our trucks that much harder because we were both generally uncomfortable standing in the sun with little to no breeze... I took 2 trucks out, broke them both. My buddy also busted up his talion pretty good.

Yup, posted done :) I also added the list of parts I used as well as other mods to make it work.

My recent updates:

-LiPo power
-upgraded plastic arm between servo and steering.
-LRP ZR32
-custom brake linkage (Kyosho parts)

What did you upgrade the plastic arm to. I was just looking at mine, seems very cheap
Hey codered,

I used two Kyosho rod ends from my madforce. I had to cut 5mm off each of the ends. I then used a 4x12 set screw and connected them. I can post pics when I’m home!

Replaced a busted pinion in my front diff. Replaced lower arms with stock instead of RPM to see if my shock ends hold up longer/better. While replacing the arms, I noticed my rear diff bearing was dying, so pulled the diff apart and replaced both. In doing so, I noticed I don't have a gasket... guessing I just sealed it with gasket sealer last time, which is what I did this time. Doesn't seem to bind or anything. The cup side of the diff is getting a bit worn and sloppy for the output shaft... will have to replace that at some point.

One thing traxxas does that I like is that they attach the output drive cup to a stub on the diff so you can easily remove the cup and bearings without completely tearing the diff apart. You can also shim more easily.

Installed a new savox servo, for a little more power and speed.20180605_210003.jpg
Upgraded my gear box to all aluminium

Replaced my dog bones for a full set of Cvds, no more popping out of cups.20180605_203909.jpg 20180605_212300.jpg 20180605_212830.jpg

Looks awesome. I see a lot of hop ups! Is that an Integy centre gearbox case? I really want to upgrade mine as debris always gets in and I’m it seems warped a little. There seems to be Resistance in the gears also.

No there was no brand name on The Box. I bought it used from somebody

I wonder why they don't design the body post/mount so that the body rests on the large flat bar going all the way across. Would help with the body pushing the posts through all the time.

I put a new body on my flux. The rear of mine totally disintegrated finally. Also ground the posts off and replaced that too. Forgot I had a brand new X body in my closet. I cut the 4.6 off the stickers... lol

Was planning on running today, but it's been raining off and on all day long. Oh well.

You can't post a picture of lights without the obligatory lights on.

If you paint that mount black it practically looks stock. Nice work!

I’ll be painting the mount, I just took a photo to show the mount, and the lights are blinking when I took the photo ahahaha
