Upgrading and Matching screws

I used the owners manual to reference the size and length. IE M ___ x ___ MM. I know who may ask me about the weight difference.:bigsmilie: So no i did not do the weighting of stock to upgraded. The weight I posted earlier were with the new screws.

i like the description on the box of the contents... "toy car engine and muffler" for some reason i find that comical.

Description sometimes helps with processing you’re items without a hick up. Imagine it said Nitro engine... Hoo No customs officials are going to be all over the package investigating. Nitro=Fuel Fuel=Explosion. But hey anything to get moving, so in this case comical is good.

They are toy engines lol, I wonder how many packages would "get lost" if people really knew what was inside? I try to be as discrete as possible while still being totally truthful.I haven't had a package go missing yet.

Great build Joe, can't wait to see it fire up :rockout:

Picco and pipe mounted

Got to finish a MT body. I will post it when I swap out most of the FLM (heavy) with stock (light). In order for the Picco to fit on the FLM motor mount I had to file the inner part of the mount so it fits without binding.

I am a clean freak and probably it will not be as clean but near to it.

I'm the same way man, I don't clean it every time, but every few runs I completely detail it out LOL. Looks like it just came out of the box. WD-40 works wonders on the plastic parts, gives them that new shine again.

Picco Break in

Yesterday I go the motor fired up. The motor and pipe is great. It roared on the second pull, due to my 1st being a sissy pull:lmao:. I put the first approx 180cc before I stopped. I got all three gears to shift and this was at 1/4 throttle. I did some blips between every few passes to clear out the motor. I put the piston BDC and cooled for 45 minutes, regrouped and started the second tank did a couple of passes at 1/4 to almost 1/2 throttle a length of 60 yards or so. I temp the motor to reference and got 208 F. I ran the truck a few more passes and it started to get sluggish. The atmosphere temperature was around 65-68 F. I brought the truck in and shut it down. I noticed that there was oil on the pull start cover :cussing: the manifold had a hair line crank 1/2 the entire weld seam on the exhaust port. So now I am going to find a different manifold. I talked to RC Hub about the manifold ( E827 B2R MANIFOLD KIT FOR SAVAGE), at first they were hesitant to send me a replacement. So they got the :leftright::cussing: and finally got my point through, so now they are sending me a new manifold. I got to figure out what I can come up with for now. Humm JB weld the manifold, slap on an OFNA 086 pipe and manifold or XL manifold and still run the ERCM pipe but I do not have enough pipe wire. Crap! It has been a while since I smelt nitro and it comes down to this. Frustrated now, I have to order stuff from the Mainland. Wait time for the part will be a week, unless I can be creative and make it work out, keeping with the recommended ERCM setup.

Just use a piece of coat hanger for the wire mount, it will work until you get the new header back.

So, I see says the blind man. I will use the XL header, but what is the gap setting again. I wanted to use the OFNA 086 but would it matter if the predrilled holes are at the 5 and 11 o clock instead of the 3 and 9.

Last night the video upload failed so sorry no videos yet. The pipe was thunderous, so to be considerate to my neighbors I had to travel some ways from the house. I used the car heater for 5 minutes until the motor temp at 160 F.:lmao:

Break in tank 1/2 gallon; tank #6

Robin said I was being nice to the engine and should have done shorter passes with more punch. The engine is really really rich. The videos of the 1 gallon mark is loading and will post later. I AM JUST HAVING SO MUCH FUN I FORGET TO POST. 1 gallon plus needle adjustments= HOLY COW, JAW DROPPING ACTION AND IT IS NOT FULLY BROKEN IN YET! A real big difference.

Laugh, I was playing it safe.

YES JOE!! Finally see some vids of it runnning!!!!
Looking good!!!

Load up some more vids and post them on youtube.

Josh, that is the 1/2 a gallon mark , tank #6, and quarter throttle passes. The temps did not even hit the 220 F.

Here is the 3/4 - 1 gallon mark. The videos are not a representative of a performance tune. Since most of the parts are new it is still in the break in stage as well. The engine was hitting the 190-200 F temperature range. I was doing different throttle ranges through out but rarely the full throttle. Even with the engine current settings the truck just burns rubber like hell and of course I am saving the wheelie videos for later. I did touch the HSN for better response and visual smoke. The winds dissipated allot of visual smoke, but it is there. I am still learning to adjust to the atmosphere conditions. The transmission needs adjustments of the first to second and second to third to get maximize the engines performance in regards to RPM. The clutch springs is almost broken it and I will give a critique of the FIO-OT-FR70 Fioroni Turbo Sliding Clutch set up in a later review.

haha i know... i don't want to abuse my truck too much either... think I'm going to build a second one for big jumps etc...
