Missed some parts but this is a good base.

Main HPISF personnel who guided me

Bob "orcusomega" First to welcome me and entertain my questions. Lead me to FLM base setup decision.

Robin "Purenitro" Gave him a headache. Provided me technical information and answered alot of questions even without me purchasing a motor and pipe.

Justin "Bankrupter" and Hypnotiq. Technical information. <--- contributors to my spending frenzy... LOL I aint counting so no worries.

I have been taking pictures and I will soon post.

LOL Joe, take me off that list man, I didn't do anything but ask you questions, you lead yourself to the answer :)

Bob

Your humble. The build is sharp with the FLM, but once it touches dirt it will be another story.
There are many that help me but I thought I give credit to the ones I asked the most questions.

Wow that's some shopping list man! I use alot of those parts and you wont be dissapointed with them.

Just curious as to why your ordering the FLM servo plate and the PRC mid-tank kit, pretty sure you wont need them both ;)

Aswell as the Dyna max life 3 shoe clutch set up and a Fioroni sliding clutch?

Are you going to test which is better for your set up?

It gives me the option of switching between the 250cc and 150cc.
The clutches were another option to play with. Many people gave good reveiws of both.

Some of the items I purchased. Going with the Specktrum DX3.

Disassembly of the rear. I removed the screws (2) from TVP to bulkheads, and the (2) screws from the TVP to TVP Brace.

Working on the Sav.... having a bud... Nice1

I did the same thing but replaced them with these

should be standard on all savages i think!

Disassembly of Transmission and Motor plate. Install FLM45800 - FLM Motor Mount/ Engine Mount and FLM45700 Motor Plate. I had labeled the screws so I know where they belong for future reference.

8ae1fa16.jpg

Before I connected the transmission to the motor plate I went ahead and replaced the HPI87055 HPI Dual Fiberglass Brake Disc, 86930 steel brake cam, 77127 Spur gear (47), and 87042 spring and washer for spur gear. I tightened the screw all the down then back out 1/4 turn out for now.

Assembled the transmission and motor plate/motor mount together and used M3 12 screws and M3 lock nut for a solid mount.

All the parts that were removed and still serviceable were inserted into the the package of the part it was replaced with.

I noticed something that i might steal off you.. The way you attached the tranny to the motor plate. Screw and nut... Great way to prevent any movment between the gears! Nice idea!

Another look from the bottom

Now to put the Motor and transmission aside to work on the BP Diff. I used every thing except the FLM 4400O. It will not work as the diff cups are for all other savages except XL and Flux (stock)

After several attempts of assembly, shim, fit, disassemble...Blah Blah. You know the deal if you ever done one. 30k Mugen diff oil in front and 10K hpi diff oil in the rear.

When I used the stock screws no nut with stock XL set up, it wiggled too much so I went with this route for a solid mount. Of course use it.

Forgot, when you put the diffs back into bulk head use this tread to ensure it is installed in the correct direction.

Bulkheads

I prepped the FLM40010 XL Hybrid Bulkheads and #86374 upper arm brace(if buying separate from RSC kit) by placing duct tape around the areas where I drilled, cut, grinded, and filed. This alleviates scuffing up the parts where it is not need. I did not take the picture when i grinded the arm brace.

1st: I used a 6mm drill bit leaving approx 1/12 of an inch slot. This gave me a guide when I filed the rest of the area to receive the arm brace. This took about 30 mins per set of bulkhead.

2nd: I filed the until the brace and shaft are able to fit properly without binding. Eventually you will fiel the rest of the 1/12 slot off and uniquely the area will look clean and need no further work.

3rd: Fit time. What I noticed is that when using the FLM bulkhead you have to add (2) medium size and (1) small spacer per side of arm brace to align arm perpendicular to bulkhead and taking away any binding between the bulkhead and upper adjustable arm. The instructions for the RSC is for HPI bulkheads and only come with enough spacers for the HPI bulkheads. I had to ask the hobby shop to give me extras FOR FREE.

As seen the adjustable arms is centered to the port.

You can take a look at how Justin (BANKRUPTER) did his. https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12786&highlight=flm+bulkhead. Use soem type of eye protection while you modify the parts and gloves to protect your hands.

Joe, sweet build.
