    Underhead Stripped

So, after the 58th tank, the underhead was stripped. After adding afterrun oil, glow plag wouldn't catch. Except replacing underhead along with the 4 rings, is there anything else I should do? The cylinder looks very smooth and there is good compression. Thanks, Thanos

    Mid Tank Solution?

Thanks guys! Engine flud, I wouldn't mind. I could burn exess fuel if it ever happens. But fuel inside the pipe? Is that OK? Do you just drain it or does it harm the pipe? Thank you, Thanos

    Mid Tank Solution?

I was looking at another savage site and came across this idea: in order to avoid mid-tank problems, make a second huel feed line. This line is supposed to be at the bottom of the tank and at the opposite side from the existing one. Does anybody know about that? Have you tried it? If it does the...

    diffs

Speaking of diffs, I've run 30 tanks and never opened my diffs. I Should I bother with that or first wait for a problem? And if so, should I change grease with silicon oil? Say 5,000wt front / 50,000wt rear? Thanks Thanos

    diff explosion!!!! (not really)

Do you mean that it happened without any signs oh wear & tear in the bearings? All looked OK before you had that? Did you ever check for any play of the diff.? Maybe it needed shimming? It worries me and it propably means we have to change bearings as preventive maintenance. I've gone through a...

    Clutch "play"

My clutch has a free play (front to back) of about 0,6-0,7 mm. Do I have to shimm it or is it OK? I just noticed it - it's not that I have a problem with it. And if I need to shim it, should that be done to the outer screw or do I have to remove the whole cb and install the shim inside, behind...

    Only wide turns!!!

Test run with bearings on steering posts has made a difference! Thanks OREGONMUD. That's exactly what I'm trying to perfect (breaking while turning...). I'm glad to know NUBZ do improve handling (my next investment). Lowering CG is an option, as MIKEYS truck which is lower and wider!!! Isn't it...

    Only wide turns!!!

Thanks alot for the replys guys. I just finished the bearing mode. It's dark out now (8 hrs ahead in Greece) so test run will be tomorrow morning. My st. setvo is a metal gear one with 9 kg torque @ 6V and servo saver is tight at 12mm from base (had that pointed to me in another post of this...

    Only wide turns!!!

And I thought tuning was the hardest part!! No WAY! I have a metal gear servo, 2,500 mA @ 6,5V, done the modes so that the wheels have more "travel" /turn but still no results. If the car goes more than say 15 mph, there is no greep on grass or soil, the wheels do turn and the car drives a very...

    easy / cheap shock protectors

You all probably know that especially the rear shocks get all the dirt! Well, here’s an easy, fast and cheap way to protect them. Give 1,5€ and buy 20 balloons like in picture (mine are 20X190mm not inflated). Inflate them and stretch to make things easier and push the shocks through (well...

    When to change glow plug?

Hi all!! I run my car almost 2-3 tanks per week, have it tuned OK and glow plug is nice and shinny with a bit of oil on it. Is there a "time" limit when I should change it with a new one just to be on the safe side? I 've read of the possibility of the tip breaking and falling in the engine...

    Tire removal

oh! I have to mention that after I managed to remove one tire (with a nice deep scar on the side), I found out that with a little effort you can do the tire-tape mod by only having one side removed (the other side still on the rim). This saves time i guess... Thanos
