i would definitely tape the badlands... i made the mistake of not. And it made driving in a straight line a little difficult with these brushless systems...

I have heard good things about mounting on the inner bead... i may give it a go next time too...

But gorilla tape is the best tape i have come across so far and with a quick alcohol rub down, the tape will NOT come off!

The badlands aren't glued yet so i can still tape them.
All i can do it try, if i tape them i can always use the backing method and remove the tires and take the tape off.

Ok well the MMM is in and my other parts from ebay.
Now I need the TRX ESC mount since i located the ESC in the rear by hind the motor. Enough reading picture time.

• Castle MMM 2200

• XSS Screw set, 44t spur gear and flux axles (found out they don't fit the STD hubs)

• Top view of the screws, $8 for all of them

• Came up with a brain fart
and made a rear mount for the esc. Drilled out a hole that was already in the tvp

• used the engine braces that came with screw kit

• Clearance with the rear brace

• Drilled 4 holes and used 4x 3Mx10mm flat heads

• Like i said before i need the TRX esc mount to mount the esc

• Clearance from mount to drive shaft

• Pretty nice fit

• and for the HPI motor mounts i called a machine shop
and they will charge me $10 to bore out my mounts to the required inner dia to kit the MMM can

• This body has seen better days.
Ill be running this on the flux till i can get some throttle control

• Standard, Extended and XL body mount differences

I'm thinking of taking a trip to the LHS and spending the $4 on the TRX esc mount and get a few runs in. Then place my tower hobbies order and do buddy shipping. rather pay $10 ($5 & $5) then $25 straight to me.

nice esc mount brandon. i love the esc down there protected between the tvps.

i made my mount in a similar way using the same parts but bolted to the motor plate.

WOW Sorry for leaving you guys hanging around for such a long time, ill make it up to you ​

• Here is the mount i got milled. Not in a million years
would i be able to get a clean cut like that with a dremel -

• Perfect fit, no slop -

• Motor and mounts in the flux -

• SPARKS Here I'm shorting the screws that mount the esc mount to the plate -

• Shaved the tabs off the battery box tabs as i flipped the
boxes around to get more room and i wouldn't be able to fit my fingers between
the boxes and tvp -

• Shot from the side, ill be using 2 Velcro straps on each box -

• The TRX esc mount came in so i drilled the holes to mount the esc -

• Looks pretty good

• Heres the esc mounted -

• Plate mounted in the truck -

• How long the motor wires were -

• How short they are now -

• One bullet connector on -

• Close up, shinny

• Used a 1x1 piece of wood to hold bullets while i heated them up -

Ok that's it for now, my friend came over and borrowed my soldering station so i can't get the other stuff soldered up. It's ok we got about 20cm of snow Wednesday so i'm in no rush. Running video should be up soon maybe middle of April. Still need to decide on a body and a pint theme
