Hi all. I’m thinking of fitting four more standard big bore shocks to my Savage 4.6. Anyone done this? Any advantages?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It has the four big bores fitted. But my other older Savage has 8 shocks fitted and I note that you could fit 8 Shocks to my new one! I realise now that 8 big bore shocks would be overkill. Basically I want to try and make it more stable on hard cornering.I just fitted 4 of the Big Bore Shocks on mine. They seem nice. Tried to rebuild the the 8 and got frustrated. The 4 Big Bores are way better. Just need to find the right oil. I would look into getting then and ditch the old shocks.

40 wt associated with hellfire/white springs works really well. I have that on both my X and FluxHP. Tried going to 50wt, but started breaking shock ends a lot. My flux has yellow springs on the rear, but that was a mistake by the seller sending me the wrong ones. I used them and they work well. Considering the brushless squats hard on take off, a bit stiffer spring in the rear worked out well anyway. Still only 40wt oil though.I just fitted 4 of the Big Bore Shocks on mine. They seem nice. That sounds like a plan. Like a roll bar you mean?Could see if you can find a sway bar setup. HPI used to make one (part# 102538), though I can't find it available anywhere.

If by roll you mean anti-roll. I would call the bar above the transmission a roll bar (like a cage in a 1:1 race car).
When I got mine last year, i had to make an Ebay alert so i knew when one was put up on Ebay.Could see if you can find a sway bar setup. HPI used to make one (part# 102538), though I can't find it available anywhere.
Will the big bores fit behind the arm on the front? I thought the steering turnbuckles hit them.
