That’s what I was afraid of... the diameter of the tire isn’t much bigger then stock. They are quite a bit wider though. Not much you can do without using extended hexes and those are bad for the axle bearing in general, but those tires are HUGE for a stock type savage......
No, that is only dealing with the top of the shock, where you need clearance is at the bottom Moving the top is going to affect how soft or hard the suspension feels on compression and rebound....
That looks great!I just run the HPI extended stubs on both of my savage's (Flux HP and X). My trenchers 3.8's on my flux are zero offset and won't fit without pushing them out a bit. Not really seeing any difference regarding bearing life. I run zero offset tires on my X as well.

I don't run stock hex's anymore though. I modified some cheap extended 17mm ones so that the extended part took up the space the spacer used and I put the pin right through where the hex is so the wheel holds it on. Got tired of breaking the HPI flange nuts.

I did it on my flux out of necessity as I snapped the threaded end off one in a crash. For the other 3, I had to drill holes up the wheel nut as it was a cap type so the threaded shaft could stick out.

Liked it so much I did the same for my X:

The X with those hubs on extended axle stubs and zero offset trenchers:

The tires on the X were making it hard for me to figure out a tuning issue so I put some smaller/lighter ones on. I think I have it good now, so may put them back on... not sure. I like the snappy feel of the lighter tires. The flux has the torque to be snappy regardless. lol!

Yes. However, those work with the Super HD bones. The cups are larger ID/OD to fit the larger bones. I have the SuperHD bones/cups on both my flux hp and savage x.
