I'll try to make this as short as possible, while still giving any pertinent info to help troubleshoot the problem.
I finally broke my truck in Saturday(Savage 4.6 RTR) and did some mild tuning before we ran out of light. It was running great, not having any problems at all.
Well yesterday I took it to my buddy's house to finish up on tuning it up and run it for a bit. It started right up but I am having a problem with it idling way to high. I have to hold the brake or it will take off. I backed the idle screw off a tad bit but it still does it.
This is the weird part, when I let off the brakes, you can see the throttle cable/rod go back and give the truck gas?? Or when it's just setting there, you can see the servo moving giving the truck gas. I changed out the batteries in the receiver thinking that could of been causing it, I'll get a hump pack eventually. It's almost like the brake rod is pushing the throttle rod back when the brakes are released.
The only thing I did between Saturday and yesterday was adjust the brakes, that's it, didn't mess with anything else. My buddy has the exact same truck and I was looking at his brakes and brake lever. His brakes are fairly tight with almost no play, and mine are real loose. Same with his brake lever, it's pretty tight and mines real loose feeling.
Also when I hold the remote, if I tap the side of the trigger, not actually pull it back but tap the side, it speeds up also. I would like to just try to get the truck all back to factory settings and start over with the tuning. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it, being a noob, the manual can only help me so far:stressed:
And I apologize for the long post, I just wanted to make sure I gave the info needed to troubleshoot.
