Ok a while back i purchased a LRP Z.28R Spec 3, after break-in almost every 2 tanks i was going through glow-plugs, the fillaments were breaking, after the first 2 happened i tore the mill down to check for any debre or signs of failure, well to no surprise i couldnt find anything wrong. over the last month ive torn this mill apart every 2 tanks to check for wear or anything that would cause this. Well now that a full gallon of nitro i tore it down again to find the culprit this time or atleast i think this would cause it.

When i removed the connecting rod the brass bushing fell out into my hand. My guess is that the oil hole in the bushing or rod itself was clogged, causing it to fail, which in turn created play at that end of the con-rod and aloud it to contact the crankcase at bdc.
I had checked this area almost every time i tore the mill down, and this was the first time it showed sign of anything.
PS only 3 tanks since the last time i tore it down before this.

The oil hole getting plugged doesn't happen often but when it does, that's what happens. This would cause the bushing to spin and it's all down hill from there. It's a good thing to check every time you have it part, it is a pretty small hole.

Well needless to say I purchased a new Con-Rod, Wrist Pin, and found a new crankcase with bearings, only needed to get the con-rod but at the price i found the crancase for i couldnt pass that up, it was almost as cheap as replacing the 2 bearings.. which in the back of my mind I'm thinkin they could have been a reason for the failure as well.

yea parts are cheap for them. only think I have had to pay full price for is pistons and sleeves. Speaking of it look for scratches ...

lol Bank ya i looked close, cleaned everything up and actually checked over it for a while, speaking of i was checking out your for sale thread for a min but figured my piston and sleeve only have 1-1/2 gallon on it and it still has nice pinch. so.. but i looked i didnt forget you buddy.
