:resp: OOOOOOO!AAAAAHHH!Look at my shiny Firestorm!I'm waiting for my new engine(OS .18 CV-RX) so I decided I'd strip it down and clean and shine it up.This thing is soooo easy to work on!Remove the upper deck and all the electronics and the fuel tank come up with it!The steering servo is the only thing that is on the main chassis.Remove it yet and you can jump in the shower with it!LOL
I used a wet rag for the body and I used simple-green car wash mixed with water and denatured alcohol to clean the truck itself(including the tires). Then I used tire black to give the tires a shine! Its so shiny I can see myself in it!The Firestorm is totally the sweetest looking ST(stock)! Its also as good as it looks!
Here are some pics of it with the bash tires(MOABS)and the race tires(Stock Ground Asault tires).

You may be wondering why I'm getting a new engine? Its because dad put a hole in it!LOL!Serious!.My engine screws that hold the engine on the chassis where stripped,so we drilled the heads of the screws off(Or,tried to).Two screws came out just fine, but the other two screw heads didn't allow the drill to pierce deep enough. So my me and my dad tried to break the slightly broken screw heads off by prying it against the chassis by pulling up and sideways on the engine. The results??Shown in one of the pics.Instead of breaking the engine mount or the screw heads, the engine itself broke!(mumbling)obstinate screw heads(mumbling)LOL
Its really to bad, because I only put 3 gal. through it and it still had very good compression and kept its tune very good. But after a few hours I was glad that it broke so I can get a new engine right away!LOL

nice firestorm!! you'll have to keep us posted when you get your engine as to how its running and your likes and dislikes of the firestorm!!!

To be honest,I have no dislikes of the Firestorm, besides the light-weight a-arms that come on all STs.
Its very easy to tune, plenty of power, and of course Sweet looking. It has savage style ruggedness commbined with ST quickness. Its really fun to watch!
I posted some videos on the Photos and Videos section on this forum to give you guys an idea of this things tough attitude.
I only spent 20-30$ in repairs and I had it for almost a year!:resp:

The Firestorm looks like a shelf-queen right out of the box,but without the alloy parts.Aftermaket parts are really starting to appear,as this thing is HPI"s third or forth top seller.
Can't wait to see what the next nitro edition of the Firestorm will be like!!!

HPI ALWAYS!!:jamout:

I have a hunch that,in a few years, there will be a nitro Firestorm worthy of racing a GT2.HPI doesn't really have any race competitive trucks yet.The Firestorm gives that statement a bit of slack.Firestorms at the track tend to carry a rear end spin which can be fixed by shifting the weight around a bit. After that they are exceptionly agile.
There is a guy on RCU that did that and got second place at the track.
Once HPI sets a goal it is often times very sucsessfull,Obviously. Each truck they make shows thier goal in it😀urability.
I'm surprised they named themselves HPI RACING...It should be HPI BASHING.Maybe the next generation will give HPI Racing a chance to live up to their name.

i too have a firestorm, but my rear camber links like to pop out and i have to look for the drive shaft, its happened like 3 or four times. and i wasnt too impressed with the steering servo, it seemed really weak. but the motor is really strong and it is tough, mines has done several cartwheels. the only thing thats really broke was the front bulkhead because my reciever pack became unplugged and it slammed full throttle into my house

A lot of people think its the steering servo, but it really is the servo saver. It comes very loose from the factory.Tighten it up and apply thread locker to the bolt and you will have ultimate steering radius!

lol i forgot about the servo saver being loose, yes tighten that up and youd be better, but i still upgraded to better steering servo anyways

Great info. I have an E Firestorm and I love it. Its not as fast as the nitro version out of the box. But Ive got mine comfortably over the 45mph mark now and that's plenty fast for the track I race at.

wow runs good it sounds like the it needs to go down a few teeth on the fly wheel for the powerband to come on quiker i had the same trouble with my sprint car with the bigger tires or you want to stay or out run a jato get it modded by A&B MODS he did like eight of my engines and the .12 and .18 os it got so many rpm's in the powerband it's nuts.my firestorm iam going to make a edm car out of it very good car i like them better then the gt by A&E run good.its heaver but it will put the power to the ground if you move the battery box. my one is up front on the shock tower it just go's. nice vid. good luck.

Thanks.
I know all about your E-Firestorm.How?Because I'm NitroNate II on RcWorldForum, and your Vroom.
