Servo is mounted with no problems with clearance. Picture shows padding I used to secure the wires.

Its looking really good and SHINY!!! not a fan of the body mounts... i would just leave them to the side when you are bashing... and then put them back on when its on the shelf 🙂

Looks killer man, not sure about the aluminum body mounts though. My plastic ones take a beating, and I'm pretty sure they would be bent many times over by now if I used them.

I agree, some aluminum parts will come off and be replaced when the truck is bashed. Especially the ones take take forever in a day to reinstall. LOL

i like your build up... shows the effort in taking pictures as you go along... I should really do this, but i get lazy and just want to bolt the whole thing together without taking pics... I think I'm going to tear my truck down to rebuild my diffs with differnt oil so i will do my own build then... Keep you eyes open for it!

Oh... by the way... any luck with the wingmount? and avoiding cutting the body???

Thanks Buddy. Initially it is a head ache taking the pictures along with the write up. I believe doing this take away a lot of answering questions of how did I do this and what did you use in the future. Plus the HUMMM let me experiment and figure out myself.. It is fun and the response I get is that rewarding.

Still contemplating the wing. I am pretty sure someone has figured out a way, if not I just have to make clean cuts with end results that is decent.

nice idea... i have some wire mesh coming from hobbyking... got a bright orange... so it will go with all my metals when i get the anodizing done. Keep it going... By the way... get all the pictures you can now.. it will never look this clean again haha

Mid tank modification.

OFN19504 Ofna Fuel Tank 1/7 Scale, M2.6 washer, oring and PRC125-HPI Savage OFNA Mid-Tank Kit http://www.platinumrcproducts.com/prc 125.html.

I used some padding on the bottom of the tank for elevation purposes and to absorb shock. The front portion screws and nut is fasten.

Used some tape to hold the screw for the aft mount.

I did not screw the back mount because I am going to need to swing the tank left to right to get mounting screws in. I had place the brace directly on the steering saver and screwed it in just enough to get some threads in.

Now the screws are fasten at the steering (fwd). I did the back mount and it goes washer, oring, tank, oring, washer, and then M3 nut. Took off the tape and screwed the tank,

I screwed the tank down and secure the TVP braces on the side. I have a ball hex tool to reach into the botton of the tank to secure it.

Done

I love the Carbon Fiber and FLM. The plan is to do one truck all FLM and CF next time.
Hypnotiq hands and credit card is getting itchy. LOL.

i like the foam under the tank thats a good idea. if you find those tank mounts to be a p.i.t.a., you can use the Hellfire tank mounds & they screw in from the bottom then the tank mounts (screws in) from the top. easy to take the tank out when you gotta get at that servo/bellcrank whatever.

That can be in the future for modification. I tried the Ofna Posts & Spacers Fuel Tank Ultra #30287, but it did hold to strong so I just kept Jasons mount and changed the screws.

See Fred you helping me spend more money. LOL

Receiver and battery box modification

The CEN battery and receiver FF007 has grooves on the bottom that is not smooth so I took a flat plate and modified to fit the slots.

Got an indention of box

I removed the tape and placed it on the flat plate.

Made my indentions on the flat plate. Just enough to crack and remove excess

Took the measurements of the slots, indent the marks on the plate and then break plate.

Peel back the tape that is going to be the top side and hopefully it is not too scratched

Added Japanese super glue for both side and place the plates inside
