Hello, this is my first post.
I have looked and been threw the forums many times.
I have a Savage X 4.6 nitro truck.
I’m looking to convert it with out it costing over 350$.
I want to know what you guys think about this set up.

First is the esc I’m going to use the blur savage hp unit http://www.amazon.com/Flux-Blur-ESC-Savage/Hp/B001QLFPCK
I found one for $118 new its like a take off so i guess its used.

2. The motor is a Tacon brushless 4074 2150KV 1/8th scale
http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m802-4074-2150kv.html
59.00 new.

3. Transmission. I’m going to use the flux Hp trans
I found for 41$ all metal gears.

4. Robinson racing spur gear hardened steel 48T and 12T pinion.
about 20$

5. Battery sky LiPo 5S 40C 18.5V
4400 mAh $39.00
http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl4400-5s1p-40c-5555.html
I'm going to try, and mount inside the chassis on this. I'm not sure if it will fit. I need to measure this.

6. LiPo charger
Sky charger 59.00

7. Motor mount I’m not sure it will work or fit. So this is my biggest question. I going to measure for it so I think it will work. Model 4140 for smooth can motor 40mm $40.00
http://www.teknorc.com/product_info...=1035&osCsid=3e03139a9e9675ac6b1acf8b3239fd5a

This is about it I’m sure I will need more little parts and bracts and screws.
Total price about $376 without tax or shipping so its more like $410 with everything.

Question do you guys think this setup will work and what do you think the first thing to break will be, and how fast will it go.
I’m looking for speeds between 40-50 mph.

Thanks guys for all your help!!

instead of buying from hobbypartz buy your electronics from hobby king if you are not one of those pepole money man
motor:

esc:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14635
that esc & motor combo is very good, my friend is running this combo on his associated rc8be and he told me its better than the mamba monster combo (he have the mamba monster on his second buggy).
battery:

power supply:

hobby king products are wayyyy better than vobby partz products.

Ok if I go with a setup like you suggested I’m looking at under $350,
But how reliable is the trackstar esc 150a.
I don’t want to just buy it and run it twice and have it blow up.
Also what do you think about the motor mount

i cant see the pic for your mount but did u check on kershaw designs if he still makes them?or try rcmonsters.

I have a used ESC and Motor that I'm planning on departing with. I can give it to you for 120bucks with split shipping if you are interested. I am planing on adding a 1/5th scale motor on mine ( evil smile)
