After-run oil or not?

I've always taken the time when storing the truck to put a few drops in all of my engines and have never had any problems.

But, the other day, I actually took the time to read the label on the Morgan Fuel Sidewinder fuel bottle that I always use, and right there, in big bold letters were the words:

"DO NOT USE AFTER-RUN OILS. Morgan fuels contain a rust inhibitor and anti-oxidants for resting engines"

Hhhhmmmm. So I'm thinking since that's exactly what's in the after-run, why the heck am I wasting my time. Now, don't get me wrong. The extra 30sec. isn't gonna kill me, but it's an extra step for nothing and another product I have to buy when I run out.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. Would you trust your engine to what's in the fuel only?

I'm not really sure about that fuel bc i never used it but i use after run after every run. 2 drops in the carb and 2 drops onto the piston.

Usually i do not use ARO. I run Byrons fuel and it states basicly the same thing. I do however use it when they will be stored for a while between runs.

I agree with Grumpy-can't hurt.
I always treat my RC's the exact same way I treat my full scale rides-in evey aspect-from motors to diffs and maintenence.

i use that fuel actually and still use the after run, i figure the extra lubrication cant hurt other then makes it a pain to start at times lol

I was kinda thinking the same thing. All that oil has to be flushed out by the incoming fuel before it will fire properly.

I guess what I will do is continue to use the AFO, but only for long periods of storage. General opinion I get is that most trust the fuel additives and have not had a problem.

I've been using sidewinder for a long time and have never used after run, it's like Prego, "itsinthere". I have had trucks sit for months and fire up on 2 pulls, with out changing the fuel. I trust all my trucks with it, and I've got 7 nitros right now.

Now there's the endorsement I was looking for. SOLD!

Thanks for the input guys.
