    Throttle-brake Mod

or try this thread, Here, and Here throttle mod for cost of nothing (except glue and an off cut of plastic.) with a little more explaination. the bar has been bent due to the pads wearing down, and i fine tune the brake force using the thumb screw and spring or varied length of fuel tube...

    Look Ma...no Pressure Line

just go out and try it, then let us know what you think. i feel the engine will run very similar to having the pressure, as changing the initial tune anyway. i would recommend a good guality fuel tube, as short as possible and even large bore (if it exists), all to reduce the effects of...

    Half tank lean

just another point i forgot to mention. pressure head is only affected by the difference in height. the fuel tank could be any shape, wavy tube, have a shelf, spherical, long wide short, has no effect on the change in pressure head. all i can say about adding a second tank is my experience...

    Half tank lean

I suppose what I was trying to say is that this "half tank lean" is not a bug, or a dark art, it is merely an effect of the physical world, fundamental laws of physics, fluid mechanics etc. Moving the tank, mid tank mod , tuning etc are not solutions to "half tank lean" and in theory have...

    Half tank lean

Most the mid tank mods I have seen pictures of, the tank is still located so the carb is approximately mid height of the tank. Doob that analogy is accurate, but as the level of milk reduces it also reduces the flow as the pressure head decreases. And this is ignoring friction in the pipe...

    Half tank lean

someoine please go and read about the basics fluid machanics, I am a qualified engineer, and these theories about half tank lean are not correct, and the mid tank mod does not address the issues of half tank lean.

    any pics of them?

    throttle sticking

if the throttle is sticking, remove the carb from the engine. first take note of the position of the idle screw, then remove. this will allow the card slide to come free of the body. check both the body and slide for signs of uneven wear (Photos if possible) and check the end of the idle...

    How to split diffs

that is odd, did the o ring do that?

    How to split diffs

those are good housings. but i have a few pointers if you go that way, as i have used them. the external cases have no problems, but set aside the purple diff cup, shims and internal gears, everything else is spot on, ring (crown) and pinion are hardened, drive cups are hardened. rebuild...

    17mm to 14mm hexes

i run 14mm and have had no probs either, if i could justify new rims they would be 17mm as i love the hpi blast, and truggy wheels just offer a much wider selection of sizes and treads.

    Hump Packs

i wouldnt think the baja packs would fit as they are made with sub C cells, what we fit into most 8th scale radio boxes are 2/3 AF cells. as siad above go for the largest capacity you can afford/want.

    new engine

what was the problem with the bearings in the last engine? why did you cook it assembled? did you thake any photos of the deformed parts?

    20mm Hex Adapters...WHERE!!!

or why not make them buggy style with hex then larger threaded shaft and on the outside of the wheel use a nut the same size as the hex, and use the original left and right handed nuts to hold the adapter onto the stub axles.

    Directdrive Your Ride

yes i did, and i don't agree with your analysis of melting the slipper pad and hub. you are correct in stating a loose slipper generates excessive heat and melts the hub. but i feel you are incorrct about CB heat melting the slipper hub. correct heat travels to cold but not through an...

    Directdrive Your Ride

if you have understood the symptoms and remedied them all by the means you have stated, tightening the slipper will be just as good as this adaptation. Changing a spur will take the same amount of time with or without this mod, as you will still have remove the nut, spring, washer and engine...

    Servo question

you could try a longer servo arm to give a little more turning if you have already tried the end points. also check to make sure nothing is binding anywhere.

    Directdrive Your Ride

I appreciate the effort you have put inbut what is wrong with using standard formatting with the Enter key Buggies and truggoes work without a slipper because they have three diffs which allow alot more give on a harsh landing than a centre spool does. the centre diff distributes any shock...

    Spur Gear Compatability x,ss,25

stay with the stock spur, they are cheap and save the rest o fthe drive train from serious damage. if you get it meshed right you will NOT have any problems either. remember too that a direct drive will not stop you from stripping the teeth from the spur gear. as far as i am aware the steel...

    RB "Mods"

rb has modded that crank very severly, by adding the two scoops from the centre and the knife edge on the balance weight. it has been anodised or similar finish technique (black) after the work has been done.
