savage X parts into savage 25

nice. thank you much. that other post is good. i'll be ordering some stuff from tower it seems. i gotta get the shimming down, that is definitely something that will help keep the gears longer! i was thinking of going CEN, but i think shimming will help greatly. thanks for the info that...

    opinions on a motor.

axial .28 spec 1. good engine, good price. i recommend an upgrade in the exhaust department and the gearing if going from the stock motor. give yourself a little more top end.:jamout:

    Busted Front Differential

nice, i'm gonna throw em in when my metal spur gear gets in. i'll have 47T metal, 52T plastic (and 49T plastic) the stock 15T and 18T bells, and i got 16T axial vented bell and a 19T vented axial bell on the way. i imagine that with the 49T spur and 19T bell my savy is going to FLY! (after...

    Busted Front Differential

my only concern was the weight. they are 1.7g which i've read may be too light for my .28 engine.

    clutch shoes inquiry

they came with some spacing washers and they look like a direct drop in, but if they wont do the job correctly i'll return em, rock the stock ones for now then figure out whats best.

    Busted Front Differential

my diff was a little chunky but it working condition, the beveled gear had a few teeth missing. i replaced the diff anyway cause i recently upgraded the engine. i put it all back together last night, well almost all of it, i'm wait on a spur gear and debating to put in the alum clutch shoes.

    X won't pull a wheelie.

yea, if you have the stock plastic pipe ditch it. i would say that was one of the best investments i made. its made tuning more consistent from day to day. (i went with a werks pipe)

    clutch shoes inquiry

so i bought some new aluminum clutch shoes and didn't really look into the weight of them. i got a set of OFNA #10013 shoes, ALUM SILVER - 1.7g with two types of springs. longer black ones and shorter gold ones. i think I'm trouble. i have a .28 axial and 16T axial vented bell. i should...

    2WD RWD Conversion

yea, i think i may. i'm not going to do it to my kfx, but i'll get my hands on a beat up savage 25 that someone is parting out or parting with. i have an engine and some old diff parts and some shocks and ... looks like I'm off to ebay

    2WD RWD Conversion

the more i think about it converting the savage to RWD it doesn't make sense, based on what i've read and what you siad i can see myself putting it back to 4WD after a tank of fuel. maybe i'll invest in a firestorm or a RWD buggy.

    2WD RWD Conversion

I know this may sound silly, but i want to make a two wheel drive (rear wheel drive) savage based off the 25. i have a savage 25 and that is why i would like to get another, this way if needed i can interchange parts. i'm basically going to get a savage 25 and pull parts off as need and lock...
