thats a nice setup.. i recognise that roll cage too. I remember a few of those popping up on eBay going back around 4/5 years ago. I had a bash at making one myself, nowhere near as good as your one. I still have some of the delrin rods, might have to dust them off and get designing.

I like it. Very cool conversion. Can I ask what are those battery boxes you are using ?
Looks like the Arrma nero boxes.

What LiPo's are you using? Hopefully not the traxxas 20C ones. They don't hold up well. I ran the 3S 20C ones once in my outcast just to try out 6S and one puffed up on me. That was the only time until then that I used them. I had bought them original with the erevo, but by the time it showed up in the mail, I had found that 6S is really hard on things, so I had ordered SMC 2S lipos instead. Then the 3S packs sat in a drawer for over a year until I tried them a month ago in my outcast.

Yep arrma boxes. 25c 5000mh traxxas batteries. Using a traxxas charger

This is my nephews truck. After his parents split, he got this savage in piss poor condition. Over the years ive been upgrading it, but kept it nitro.

Now hes 14. Old enough to keep the truck at his house now. I thought nitro was still beyond him so thats why i converted it.

Thanks for that. How are they mounted to the tvp are they just bolted straight to the tvp. He is one lucky young man :woot:

Yea two holes lined up with nondrilling. I drilled two more. One in the case and one in the tvp. Nice boxes. I had to add a pin to the latch to get the lock working properly. Overall theyre much better than hpi.

I misspoke, my are the 25C 5000mah packs as well. One run on the outcast, puffed. I still use it in my ejato, but I probably shouldn't.

These were brand new. I didn't want to deal with the ID charger plug adapters, so I cut the ends and installed normal 3S balance plugs, which is why there's tape all over them.

I only bought them because the erevo was my first brushless. I got 2 of those and the dual traxxas charger when I got the truck. Figured I'd go full idiot proof.

I quickly realized I chose poorly and ended up with a 4x100w/4x10A charger and 4 9000mah 2S 60C LiPo's to run in it. When I later got the flux, the 2S packs I used in my revo fit the flux really well too. I now use smaller packs to shave some weight to help the suspension not work so hard and I use SMC 7200/7400 2S 90C packs in both.

I just recently tried the 3S to try to overcome a heating issue in my outcast. It didn't help, so I went back to 4S. I've also stopped running 2S in my converted ejato and stampede 4x4, I ran the same 7200/7400 2S SMC packs. The traxxas 3S packs barely fit in the ejato and they don't fit in the stampede 4x4, so I got some hobbystar 45c 5200mah 3S packs. I've only used them a couple runs, but so far so good.

Hi

Grumpy did you chop off the top of the Nero battery boxes before mounting them upside down, or is it just the angle of the pictures, I can't really tell?
