Hey everyone,

I have a savage 25 but with a axial .28 spec1 in it. I have the stock 2 speed tranny. I'm running a 18/49 ratio and I'm using 20% nitro fuel. Would the 18 tooth clutch bell be the problem or the 20% nitro fuel?....the engine is great and has about 20+ tanks hrough it. Let me know your theories.

Thanks!

couldnt keep the front wheels down on my stock X with a 17/47 when tuned right & running 20%. what temp you running at?

I run an Axial .28 with a 17/49 setup and can wheelie no problem if the low end is tuned correctly. I ran an 18t and the wheelies settled down, but could still pull one. You get great top end speed with that 18/49 set up. Check the tuning or drop back to a 17t and you should pull the front end up easily.

if i go any leaner on the low speed the engine stutters.....i think maybe my clutch shoes could be going.

i have another theory now.....i don't have the stock tires on the thing and i think maybe my rear wheels may be slipping....either that or i notice my rear shocks compress alot while accelerating....so that could be it as well.

If one wheel slips it will kill your wheelie. You may want to fill your diff with a thicker diff oil say 80K-100K oil. Also make sure that all the Dog's are in place and that the grub screws are in place. I tend to agree your Clutch Shoes are shot or your clutch springs are shot.

Are you tuning by performance or by temps???
