Ok, I dunno if its outside temps or a fuel issue where there is not enough or flooding. But basically what is happening is: i prime - then crank it over - it will start normally right away. If i try to give any gas soon after it dies. barely will crawl even an inch then die out.

do I need to let it warm up alot more? current tem outside is prolly 3 celcius so it prety cool. But truck is house temp.

When it is running it is fine though. I normally have to play around with HSN to get it moving.

ok so update... I HAD to lean out the HSN untill I discarded some of the fuel, So i am thinking during startup its flooding a bit hence when I give more fuel it dies.

Bigger question is why is this happeing? GLOW PLUG not operating right due to cold?

P.S. I had to richen the HSN once the car got running. From stock location I had to turn 3 rotations to get it to run then dialed it back to 2 turns once corrected.

Have you checked the idle screw gap and also the trim on the radio?
Also you should not have to turn HSN so much! It may be masking another problem like idle gap or LSN setting.

Sounds a lot like an LSN setting. Try leaning it up a little, toss a brand new glow plug into it, and see how it works. The high speed needle won't effect much from the idling and very low throttle responses. I've seen engines do that many of times. 🙂
