Sat up last night tinkering with my XL getting the 3rd degree why I spend so much money on a car that breaks all the time by my women. thinking about my rc addiction and the question of why I liked driving this small car around in circles popped into my head.

I have a lot of hobbies. From shooting guns, to 4 wheeling around the woods, to driving on random road trips across state lines using a coin flip to direct me toward an unknown destination. No hobby other than r/c has a better fun to price ratio.

When my car flys off a makeshift wooden ramp that ends in cartwheels and parts fly off in random directions I smile. I know that It will be a repair that'll crunch my wallet $30.00 tops. If I go shooting it wouldn't be uncommon to throw $150.00 of lead downrange each time I go. New set of tires for my 4wheler costs as much as a new savage. you know how much gas is on one of my weekend excursions to check out the largest frying pan in the world in North Carolina is? How about my total bill to taste a REAL Philly cheese-steak in Philadelphia.

I don't feel bad one bit for dumping money into my nitro car. My girl doesn't understand my logic. All she see's is another money pit. Her shoe and handbag fetish dwarfs all my purchases for a lifetime but apparently they're investments. Not hobbies. go figure.

finx you remind me of myself at your age.

every weekend me & my buddies took off on our harleys to points unknown.

i like r/c's but still love the savage because there is so much you can do with it. i like solving problems and coming up with ideas and all that. it is an expensive hobby, but you get to work with math, mechanics, tools, ideas, creativity and other things that keep your mind gears turning.

I like working on them mostly, then taking them out and pushing the limits, jumping higher at faster speeds so they break and i have something to work on late night and get lost in the work..money is money, sometimes you have it and sometimes you don't. bottom line you gonna be dead soon so you should do things that make you happy while your alive right?

i love my rc's cuz they keep me occupied and out of trouble ha ha but seriously i do alot of other things in my spare time but would have to say i find bashing almost relaxing if that makes sense lmao

I love the sound, smell, and power of the little things. Fixing them and tinkering is half the fun too. Its a great way to get out of the house for just a couple hours without being gone all day or weekend. I have to agree with the cost to fun ratio. The ol lady sure doesn't understand that but its the same reason I don't know who she spends 200 on a pair of jeans. In other words savages are just AWESOME

my women says the same thing about my rc as well, lol. well i love the diffence of the hobby iv had rc before but they were never hobby grade rc in other words they would break and you where out of luck, my favorite was the Fast traxx member them? but i love the sound of nitro the speed of brushless, love working on them taking them appart and putting them back together adding upgraded parts fixing parts that break.

15+ pairs of shoes buried in the closet...

i agree... my RC fetish/addiction is far cheaper then my Skyline is to race, so wtf right! LOL

yes sometimes they do,lol

shoes and make up and bags and everything else they buy but we buy some stuff for our hobby and they go nuts, oh well just something we men have to deal with, lol still love them to death though.

other than gaming (360, and PS3) this is the only hobby i have really.
