I have a savage 25 and my engine's crankshaft blew😢. I'm looking for a new engine. I want something the same size or bigger. What is the best brand out there for the savage and what model fits it perfectly. I want something Powerful, yet durable. Could someone give the Brand, and Model of the engine. Or If anyone is willing to hand me a spare Nitro Star S-25. I would be very happy, since the new engine would take a LONG time to save up for it. I'm only 15, My whole family is poor. Thank you very much.

alot of the time you can find a new motor on ebay for pretty cheap. as in wat mill (motor) that would fit and brand picco p3 28,lrp z28, axial 28 1s.theres more out there but thats just off the top of my head.hope this helps.

look around on ebay there are usually some pretty good deals and i know it feels like bro to be in your place because I'm only 16 and i sometimes can run my savy for a while because i don't have money to fix it

+1 .......

sondayi would 3rd the looking on ebay axial .28 1s can be had for around 100 dollars . i know exactly how you feel about the s25 breaking the crank mine did the exact same thing.

if you send your broken motor in HPI will replace it will a motor at 50% cost. this could be your best bet.
s25, and 4.6 are good blends of power, durability, and ease of tuning. two others 2 look at are the sts 28 and axial 30 for a budget basher, these two are more powerful then the HPIs, but you gotta love the HPIs for there ease of use.

with HPI you are also getting a warranty. for what that is worth..(not much unless you can prove a manufacturer default)

I see that a .28 can fit in the savage. Can A .32 fit in also, or thats way too big? I'm just gonna sav up but i want to know what engine I'm Heading for.

I keep seeing on these engines, The carburetor's needle is on the on the other side then i need it to be on. Can it be moved around. I'm saying the carburetor is not faced like the Nitro Star S-25 is faced. the servo is on the other side.

you can get am axial 28 for pretty cheap and is a good motor i think you can get one for about 110-150 new. the picco is $200. and the price can go up from there just depending on where you shop at.

I changed my mine, after long reviews. I really like the Axial engines. I see that there is an Axial .28 spec 1s and an Axial .28RR. I know that the .28 has more mid range and top end power. But is it worth it or the Spec 1s is good enough. FYI, I don't my abuse truck,Its just a hobby.

Ok, I chose my motor. An Axial .28 spec 1s. Now what do I need to put it in the Savage 25? What is a good Glow plug, Clutch shoes, Flywheel? And What is a good Spur gear-Clutch Bell teeth Ratio? Since I'm gonna buy it on towerhobbies, mind as well get the rest of the stuff from there. Could I reuse the flywheel, clutch shoes from my old engine? Thanks all.

yah you can just take out the screw on the carb and its a lock screw to push hard on the screw then you will hear a pop then take the screw out pull the carb out and switch it around!

If you switch the carb around, Wouldn't the Fuel needle be faced the wrong way, and the ball for the linkage be the wrong way? Oh, I don't think there is 47teeth spur gear, lowest is 49. I just want a good ratio for the engine. If you don't get what i mean about the carb, just look at the Nitro Star S-25 engine's carb and compare how the linkage and fuel line would attach.
