Hey everyone. I have been looking around this site for awhile now and it has lots of info.
Within the past week I have bought a Axial 32 and put it into my Savage 25. It is broken in now, and when I start it, it will stay idling, and without me touching the remote it will all of a sudden take off, go for a little bit, than idle again. I have blocked it up and it looks like the servo is making it rev, but I could be wrong. I don't have it fully tuned yet so that might be the problem as well? Any advice will be helpful. I would like to get it running good by tomorrow night so i can go bashing with my buddies with my new engine. Thanks.

Do you have the TX powered up when you start it up??

If so, check your RX batteries and make sure they are charged. If you have not done so, recommend you upgrade to a hump pack.
You could also be getting interference from somewhere if you are running the 27mhx radio gear.

Oh ya i was gonna say I changed the batteries as soon as it started acting up and it didnt change anything. And everything was powered up. I will try taking it out away from the house and see if it still does is. Another thing is it only does it with the engine running, and not with it just sitting there.

Thanks for the fast response.

Be very careful until you sort this out, I had my touring car take off on me before. Not cool to say the least. After that there were some things on that car that were never the same LOL. Check your batteries first.

whoops we posted at the same time LOL. Probably interference or a problem with your equipment.

ha ya i have very little gas in the tank right now. living on the farm here with a big coulee behind the house. don't need it going down there.

Check your ant wire and stuff make sure you are not getting any metal to metal contact, this is one cause of the servos twitching. Only other time I have seen these servos severely twitch is when the batts are going down. Getting a fail safe will be the best 15-20 bucks you spend right. It will save you from a much more costly disaster looming on the horizon.

I just pulled the throttle servo out and the connector looks like its been smashed. Could that be the problem?

I would think so, yes. If those wires are somehow shorting out or just have a bad connection that is probably your problem. I need a fail-safe also, which do you recommend Allan? I know the fail safe kicks in when the batteries go dead but how weak do they have to be before it will work? What if they are weak enough that you only have very little control over your servos and they won't stay neutral but your batteries are not all the way dead? Don't mean to hi-jack but I think this could help me and 3speedsavage.

that very well could be the problem ..it sounds like interfearance or shorting out ... ...turn the rx tx on put the glow ingitor on the plug and let it touch the head it twitches like crazy its a ground isssue...so check the lead wires really good and antana wire..

Ya agreed. I ran a fail safe when I first got my truck than somehow it burnt out? Quit working anyways. I will go out and check to see if it runs better away from everything around the house here. If it still acts up looks like I may need a new servo?

Another thing. It is only the throttle that acts up. Not the steering. So I am willing to bet its the servo connection.

Allot of fail safes do not protect against voltage. Only loss of signal. I have built in fails in my radios. I have never needed a extra one to recommend a good one or I would.

I just thought of something. I had reverse in my truck for a little bit till that transmission cratered and I decided to not put reverse in the 3 speed. Will the servo to engage the reverse work for the throttle? Or is it a special servo?
