I ordered one when I got my Savage X and finally received it. Now I know some people don't trust these, say they are inacurrate, make your rig twichy, etc.
this is none of my concerns yet. I want it too give me a little help to keep my X within control. dead batteries or out of range are things I worry about. The temp reading I will check with my buddies heat gun to see how on or off it is. What I am looking for is pics of any fail safe installed on a X so I can have something to go by. Anyone? Anyone who has read my other thread on leaning out my x, well its been raining hard out so that will have to wait.

I just bought the venom smart temp. Just looking for some installed pics of whichever ones you guys are running so I have an idea where to mount mine. As soon as my son goes to bed I am gonna have a look at installing it.

let me give you a piece of advise, hook power to it but don't hook it to any servo.use it just for a reference for the temp and volts.
i repeat please don't hook it to the throttle servo.
when i got mine, i set it up just like the manual said.the temp i set at 284 and the volts i set a 3. something.i fired it up dropped it on the ground,it went 30 feet and went full throttle.the only controll i had of it was the steering. i had to make it flip so i could kill it.well when i checked the temps was only at 150 and the volts was at 5.0.
so i decided to hook it to the steering servo and try it. fired it up and just like before 30 feet out it turnedthe wheels .that was alot safer than full throttle. i have had several people try to set it cause they said i had it set wrong, and the same thing happened to them.
so please becareful with yours.like i said ,now mine just comes on with the switch and is used for reference

just my .02

there is an adjustment you have to do to the failsafe. and besides you should of checked it by shutting the remote, and it should of gone to failsafe mode.

for adjusting it, there should be a little screw lookin deal on it, you turn that until your brakes go to full brakes instead of WFO. i had a buddy tat forgot to do that, and when he was tuning it in a parking lot, it went WFO into a cement post, and bent one tvp, broke the other one, broke the trans houseing, diff housing, both sets of front a-arms, lost a dogbone, and broke a rim.

adjustment is very important.
