Toyota's NASCAR engine?

Gday fella's, Can someone tell me what type of V8 Toyota are running in NASCAR? I don't think they'd devolve back to pushrods & carbies, so are they running overhead cam V8's against pushrod V8's.

Toyota & Mitsubishi wanted to run their 4 litre overhead cam V8 down here in the V8 supercar series, but were told they had to run a 5 Litre pushrod V8's.

Yes,they are pushrod type engines as well.

No non-pushrod engines in NASCAR to date.

nascar is all air aspirated carbed pushrod v8s until mr whiney bill francis passes the efi engines which i hope dosent lol

Thanks Kev, WOW I'm impressed they developed there own pushrod V8, sounds like they wanted in on nascar more then V8 supercars.I wonder why?

Yeah I know they all Naturally Aspirated carby engines.

Dan don't you think it's about time nascar jointed the 21st century :resp:

But yeah one thing at a time, first thing they need to change is the 5 stud wheels, maybe that would help Marcos' crew speed up the pit stops so he doesn't lose half a dozen or more spots every time he stops. But now I'm ranting

nascar pfft 1960s technology through and through. the rear msuspension is off of the 60s pickups and the motors well ya they are still pollution pumps with the carbs . i think nascar should start running some high revving smaller motors that are fuel injected to reduce the pollution they pump out.

I saw an interview with TRDs spokesman the 1st year Toyota raced in NASCAR. They basicly tore down Ford, Chevy, and Dodge engines and took the best features from all of them and incorperated them in their design.

Toyota has never been inventive. Theye into perfecting.
