hi all
Anyone got any idea cos i aint and not looked at it yet...
Was running round the field doing lots of wheelies when all of a sudden i think i lost drive in the rear. when i accelerate off from a standing start the front wheels will balloon up and it will drive off but the back ones don't. lifted truck off the grnd and they do spin with throttle. but now i cant wheelie at all, when i was driving along not going particularly fast i thought i heard what sounded like a backfire ( I got a ribbed Pipe, don't know if its relevant) i carried on driving just to run tank empty then bagged it up and not looked at it yet.don't know if i bust a dogbone or a cup. anyone had this happen to them ?

Have you checked to see if maybe you lost a bone first? It happened to me as I was ripping my rear apart and realized I had 1 bone after a landing, one bone wont do it for ya, ya need 2

Same happened to me last week, lost drive to the rear, checked grub screws OK, rear diff OK, it was the grub screw/pin in the brake hub had sheared off and the pin fell out but the head of the screw was still in there making me think it was ok lol took the screw out and it was a proper clean cut, like a guillotine cut.

There was still just a tiny bit of the pin left to grip the gearbox output shaft with the wheels off the ground but would obviously slip when under load.

if the grub screw isn't out of the rear driveshaft.......check the grub screws in the wheel outdrives cups.......if they are missing one it will act the same way. and....you can NEVER have done too many wheelies!

well its in the shop at the moment being looked at by someone ( Not gonna charge me) he rekons i damaged or something wrong in the diff, gonna strip it down and see. just out of curiosity is there any upgrades i should do to strengthen it for wheelies apart from dogbones and maybe cups.

I had the same thing but what it was that the pinion gear had some teeth missing so it stripped the bevel gear. My fix to this was buying the flux's diff gears there alot more expensive than a ring gear and pinion but well worth it.

UPDATE
Been told that one of my bevel gears had shattered in me diff and upset the others so now can someone tell me where i can get some stronger diff gears from (I am in the uk so uk site please) preferably wanna buy full set, been told that the xl has upgraded gears in the diff as standard, bit of a bummer really as i like doing the wheelies and been told thats what prob wot caused the damage, at that rate i will be replacing gears every week...
