I broke my Savage in using Traxxas Top Fuel 20% which I know is not a fan favorite around here but the lhs didn't have much of a selection when I was breaking it in so I went with it.

I was reading some threads and would like to buy different nitro for my Savage and maybe even up the %.

I was looking at either Trinity, O'Donnell, or Byron fuels.

Other than tuning adjustments, any other things I should know before switching?

Also, can I up to 30%. Advantages/Disadvantages?

If you mean order as in order through the mail you are gonna pay big time for hazmat and shipping. Probably around 50 to 60$ plus the cost of a case of fuel. Post what fuels your local hobby shop has in stock. The tuning should get better with 30% and will have better power.

Blazer X: So going to 30% from 20% is not really an issue and will offer some performance advantages. That sounds good.

Anyone else have thoughts on the switch?

yes 30% will give you a bit more power and i have heard you can expect a little cooler temps as well, i don't have first hand exp on this subject as I'm still running 20% but have been contemplating switching to 30% myself!!

with 30% you don't need to lean much as you already gained performane before switching I would richen both needles a 1/4 turn and idle one tank so the engine gets use to it then tune for performance trintys platium is the one get if you go for trinty or byrons that's the good stuff

I finally made the switch. I picked up a gallon of Trinity 30% today. I changed my glow plug to the MC-8 and ran 1 tank through. Truck ran good. May tune a bit more tomorrow. So far so good.

Thanks to all in this thread for the advice.

so glad we all could help you a bit!! now the fun starts!!! the first time you crack the throttle and it does a 100ft wheelie you wont stop smiling for hours!!! lol
