I have just bought my son Per (6 year) a Savage XL 5.9 truck.
The first thing we did was to change the radio system to Tower Hobbies 2.4GHz.
We live in the Copperbelt in Zambia along the Congolese boarder. The FM radios does not work well up here, people says it depends of the copper in the ground.
The truck is running nicely, although we have a problem.
When applying the brakes (pushing the trigger forward) the motor stops immediately. I have noticed there is 2 links moving when doing that, and I wonder if somebody can help to advise what to do so only the brakes apply.

Best Regards

Welcome to HPISF Anders & Per!!

Whip the air filter off and check that the carb idle gap is approx 1mm open with full brake applied. (look down the carb neck and youl see the carb slide and gap) sounds like the gap is closing when you brake.

If the gap looks too small woth the brake on turn the idle screw in (clockwise) to increase the gap slightly.

hey fellas welcome to the forum great to have ya join us as members here.

look in your owner's manual about adjusting the idle gap to appx 1mm. if you don't have the manual, i can link you to it.

could also be the LSN needs a little tweak but lets start with the easiest thing first... idle gap.
