Hey funk, what's going on? do you have your heart set on 1 or the other? the reason i ask is that it may be a good idea for you to cruise through the Engine/tuned pipe/ etc section bcz there are a million different posts in there & 2 things anyone would ask you before they give an opinion are how much do you want to spend & what are you looking to get out of it.
.
i personally run a ths anodized w/my stocker f4.6 & i love it. it was $80. Iif you are looking to drop less coin, many say that the hpi ribbed is not a performance pipe but recommend the hpi polished pipe which is around $30 & looks pretty sweet. However, you will see that almost all of the 'old-timers' here run & love the buku. i am also planning to p/u a buku when i get a new & better mill.
.
Good luck & let us know what you decide on & how it worked out; I'm sure that someone else will have the same question sooner or later.

I'm asking because i have the jp3 pipe just layin around and was wondern if its a better match with the stock motor then then the ribbed.

yes JP3 > ribbed pipe, but Buku is really the way to go for any engine.

ill look into the buku once i get my new mill, i don't see a reason to have a $100+ pipe on the stock mill.. I wouldnt purposely buy the jp3 for this mill either, i just allready have it laying around doing nothing..

the jp3 will work pretty good with that engine. i ended up using the stock header with the flare cut off and forced the coupler over the end of the pipe.
the nipple ends up sitting in that little space on the tranny and you have to rout the presure line around the tvp so it won't get cut. works well.
