hello! me and my son are new to this hobby and have a few questions. We bought a used savage x from a hobby shop. We can now get it started and it runs great for a while. But, it stalls when we try to climb stuff and mostly if were spinning the wheels trying to get unstuck. The first time was in a ditch with a little bit of water but the second time it was a dry mulch pile. It stays running if running on flat ground and even jumping a little. When it stalls, it is very hard to get re-started. Would like to know why it may be stalling and if there are any tricks to starting it after it stalls? I'm guessing it is harder to start because it is hot. I believe the glow plug heater is charged enough and it has the electric starter. I can also see plenty of fuel in the line. I'm guessing it is getting flooded when trying to re-start? Not sure how to get it unflooded. I think that removing the glow plug and turning upside down would do it? or just removing the fuel line from the carb and running the starter a while?
Thanks for any help, Doug & Dougie

Chances are the tune is a little off. I would set everything back to stock (flush for all needles) and tune it fresh. There are several good tuning guides in the engine section. If you have already done this let us know and we'll go from there. Also what fuel and glow plug are you using?

welcome to the forum. if you have flooded the engine you will find that tthe roto start (eletric start) will struggle to turn over the engine. to unflood the engine you have to thake the glow plug out and use the roto start to turn the engine over fuel should piit out from the hole where the glow plug came from. i had the kind of the same problem with my mates nitro we returned it back to factory settings and it ran better still not perfect but good enough. i would suggest putting the needles back to factory settings as savagexss1337 said and tuning it again. this forum is a really good forum and eveny if you have a question that you think is really stupid still post it the guys and girls on here will be willing to anwser any question you have!!!!
hope this helps
