i have a new xl.its my first expirence with savages .i have broke the engine in and started to begin the tuneing on the hsn. temps were fine and the motor was ripping the dirt up.lotsa power and quick acceleration, problem was that when i would use the brake the engine would quit.
i then took the airfilter off to look at the slide position.
i would have the slide at about 1-2mm open, then i would open it wide.when i let off the throttle the slide almost fully shut and the only way to get it to open again was to flick the brake lever-on the throttle.
the question is-should i set the throttle trim in the middle, then run the idle screw in until i have the slide stopping at the 1-2mm positionso when i use the brake the slide doesnt travel inward to far, then trim if necessary?
