Had some fun in the yard yesterday with the savage. I got a picture for ya, a roll into a fencepost happened to cause this havoc. It's much more visual, than physical damage. The body just got pinched on the pin there, and it made for some "holy crap" damage looks lol. Though, if you notice, my antenna is REALLY short, and ripped in two places. I never though with only a set of RPM A-Arms that this thing would have held together so nicely. Now, to find a more durable type of antenna tube lol Any suggestions? That was number 3 that was eaten by the savage 🙂 :werd:

I say you buy yourself a Spektrum DX2.0 radio system. Not only will your antenna be much much shorter, but you will have a DSM radio, more range, and more tuning options for your truck.

Well, I was thinking about upgrading my gear, but... The biggest problem I have is my funding.. Raising a family, working a full time job, and tossing cash in to be a full time student is rather hard on poor old Mr. Wallet lol I'll probably end up doing the same as I did for the RC10. I used a heatshrink tube collection on it, and it was flexible, but DANG sturdy

Yeah, you may also want to try drilling a hole in the back window of the body, and sticking the antenna out from that. That way, when you roll over it isn't sticking straight into the ground, this really helped me alot when I had a longer antenna.

I believe racers edge makes a very flexable one, but you can also make one. Take a piece of lexan about 2 in wide and several inches long. Poke holes in the oppisite sides to the length. Then you feed the antenna through the holes in a zig zag and finally shoe goe the hole thing to the truck inside.

Sort of like that.

I'm gonna try my heatshrink treatment, worked well with the RC10, but thanks guys for the ideas, it may help too! I'll probably give them all a try soon enough lol

I have the racers edge antenna and mount with my side mounted RPM box, it works like a charm. Goodluck AoD!

I too got tired of breaking tubes so I tucked most in radio box and left it real short. I have had no reception problems either.
Here's a pic but it's an older one and that cage lasted 5 minutes and is long gone now.

Well, speaking of tools... I just crashed my Savvy, and did the second "day ending" damage to speak of. It literally ATE a shovel handle.. The handle, being fibreglass, went straight passed the shocks (thank god) and right into the throttle and brake servo arm. It snapped the arm for the brakes off, and continued it's way to snap the throttle hinge off of the frame. Here's a pic.

Worst part is, my wife was coming out to vid the jumping session, and right as she walked out it happened. I was like, "Ohh it's ok, it's still running!!" No throttle response at all, probably stripped the servo too 🙁 Time to go to the LHS.

The servo may be alright, I have to test it out and put a little stress on it. But, I know I'm gonna have to replace the hinge and arm. That sucks.

Oh well, wish I could of had it on video. I hit a rock and went sideways, just barely collected my garden tools and it really got the end of the shovel. LOL

It was only 9 bucks, then I wrecked it again and stripped my steering servo BAD, and during another inspection, found out the throttle is pretty much stripped... Bah!

I'm gonna get an elcheapo servo for now, we're supposed to get some nice wet snow, and I wanna bash down at the local riding area. I climb the hills on my KFX, I wonder if I can climb them with the savage! 🙂

I got one of those down at the LHS, and a futaba cheaper servo for the throttle, both were shot! My throttle servo took a shot by a shovel 🙁 How lame lol. I'm currently taking a break from installing my new HiTech 😀

well guys my friend track has this one part where it goes up a hill then turns come back down and on the way down the is a jump then it flatens out and there is a wooden jump, well i came off the first jump side ways at full throtle, i think you guys can see where this is going lol!!!!!! well it slid some then gripped i counter steered toward the jump and missed the ramp and hit the side of it and did this

remember this was at full throtle with missing cross members sooo...

well, i don't think i have anything to fix it this time 😛 i may have some stock plastic ones, but the shipping would cost more than what it would to go buy some new ones.

oh ya ita all better now lol don't worry guys all the parts are in, high octane hobbies made me fix it by the book lol

wow .. most damage I have seen in awhile .. give us a rundown on what was broken

well i broke the radio box, 2 shocks, diff case, striped out 2 crossmembers that are under the skid plates, lost front dog bone, and bent the frame some
