sealing the HSN and LSN?

if one didn't have green slim and needed to seal the needles what else could i use maybe something from a hard ware store or walmart perhaps. obviously it would have to be something that wouldn't dry but stil seal good and ideas. thanks guys

I've heard of people using vasoline to moisten their o-rings before, most LHS have Green Slime in stock though.

I'm not sure if the Vasoline would hurt anything but your basically wanting them not to dry out and tear.

well I'm basically looking for something that will work like the green slime. sucky part is my LHS is 30 minutes away and keeps odd hours.

Would a lithium grease work the same? That I do have.
