:duh: how long does it take for copper rtv sealant to dry before
you can start engine? the tube is so covered with copper I cant read it.

thanks for the help :resp:

dang I have to wait until 4pm tomorrow to test my new mod work.

this is hard..........................lol

its supposed to set in 24 hours. but id let it set a bit longer that that. from other experiences with RTV, let it set for 36-48 hours in a completely dry area. thats just from my experience though. others may have differnt ideas

Dread is correct it cures in 24hr's at 77*F. So like he said I would let it set longer than the 24hrs. Sorry Crash I'm sure your itching very much to get out and play.

wow, I did not know that

It seem that when I disasemmbled it the old rtv was not really stuck
to the engine parts, being that the parts are all shiny the sealant doesnt want to bond to it.

maybe with the extended dry time it will hold better

WDYT?

YES!

I am experimenting with a hpi k 4.6 and modding the sleeve and I am doing littlechanges at a time.
so, this takes patience for sure waiting for the sealant to dry

ah. i just sealed mine, and i have to completely retune it cus i had an air leak that i wasnt catching
kind of a bummer, cus i only had it out for 10 mins yesterday when the throttle servo went out.

well mines been sitting for 2weeks so it should be dry, but when i did it before i fired it up after 24hours
