Is it possible to put this in a savage xl ?
I was going to put a new engine in awhile back, due to idenity theft after Christmas and unemployment everything been put on hold for my XL.
Now I'm going back to work and I'm moddin' up my xl.
All help appreciated .
If not I'm just gonna go with a different picco .28
so advice on that - gearing,mounts,etc. And someone to modify it would be appreciated.
I had it all before but it was stored in my iPhone and is gone now.

It's what comes in the Schumacher Fusion .28, the assistant guy in my LHS runs one in his Savage, havnt seen it but he reckons its the best thing since sliced bread. Says it makes his Savage do 80 with a 3 speed, pffffff. :LMAO:

Based on the assumption that most LHS staff don't have a clue what theyre talking about iv steered clear of it lol But it may be the P3 with a different head IDK.

The link is there. Doesn't look like a pullstart claims 80mph in the touring car.
It's sold out at the schumacher site
 
That is a Picco .28 and it comes with a rotostart. It just has a different head on it.
 
That's the one for me ... I'll half to research it because it's probably already modified if it's from them. That cooling head looks sick ! Thanx for all the help guys

its a stock picco 28 not modded other then the head as far as I know

Isnt the usual Picco .28/P3 a 9 port engine?

The first one is very lean, if your picco sounds like this, richen it up. The second vid is bad too, if the engine is that hot, that it needs a fan to maintain 220 at idle it is WAY too lean.

I'm sure it's just a regular picco with a different cooling head, it will haul the savage around effortlessly.

The Picco has 5 intake ports, 2 bypass that aren't used and a triple port exhaust. It should be called a 5+2 but really it's only a 5 port.

The 80 mph claim in the fusion 28 is using the high speed clutch bell. I haven't tested the top speed of mine yet because it's down right now with worn out outdrives on the rear diff. But, I can tell you it's close to 80. My buddy has a traxxas 4-tec 3.3, he gets me off the line (if I can find traction), but once I hit 2nd and 3rd gear, I've done caught him and passed him. But, from personal experience, putting a 28 in a 1/10th scale on-road is too much torque. Pegging the throttle only causes immediate spin-outs. The motor may work in the savage. I know the older 21s do.

So do you think this Schumacher/Picco has the same porting as the regular Picco .28 that we all know?

I'm curious because I nearly gave in to the LHS guy and got one of these but for some reason I never did, I guess i'm just a bit skeptical that an RTR could come with such a great engine, especially as this Schumacher/Picco is nearly £100 cheaper than a P3 over here, it cant be the same engine surely, is it? lol

If it is the same engine then I'm getting one lol

DGCON, if you do get one would you mind pulling the sleeve piston and crank out and taking a pic for Robin to take a look at and confirm its the same?? :lmao4:

You can take pics if you like but there is only one version of the picco .28 Jammin, P3, FTT, JLR, schumacher etc. the timing may be different between the versions but they are all the same other then that. Same goes for the .21's Jammin, P7 EVO3, EVO2 etc, same guts different timing and different heads.

One last question ?

What's the other picco model number everyones using ?
And who do I have modify it ?
I thought About it and I'll just get that one and order the other cooling head ,
since the x28 itself is almost impossible to find
