Savage XL or Savage X4,6

Hi.
I shall perhaps buy me Savage in April.
Shall I choose Savage XL or X4, 6?
How abide most of these?
And suit suspension arms on the X 4.6 on a Savage XL

The 5.9 that is in the XL is a nice motor from what I have seen of it. I don't like a long truck so I would go with the standard X. After driving/owning a long wheelbase truck and a standard the shorter turns better and seems to handle better.

i have a savage X. buy an XL because is comes with MANY upgrades that you will definately want to add & you will save yourself many hundreds of dollars.:duh: trust me.

Exactly. For the little bit more money for the XL you get the 3-speed, bigger motor, bigger truck, etc! I'm really happy with my XL. Though as mentioned above, the standard sized Savages seem to handle better (stock for stock).

get the XL, then buy the X TVP with the dogbones from ebay, it will cost u around 25$ max for all, and u have a sweet savage X 😀

i would have to agree with the rest of the guys on the xl and all the upgraded parts
--bigger mill
--polished exhaust
--high torque metal gear steering servo
--3 speed tranny
--aluminum clutch pads
--1200mh hump pack
all things that will end up on your list anyway

i don't like the metal spur gear, i'd prefer to stay with plastic since it's a cheap part and would be the weak link in the drivetrain.

i have not driven or seeing a extended truck in person so i don't know about the ext chassis handling. either one you choose you will enjoy and want to upgrade to your taste. good luck on your decision 🙂

Just buy both, like I did. X ss then the xl. When one breaks and I don't feel like fixing it immediately I run the other truck. My favorite is the xl.

i have switched my savage x to the xl tvps and widened the axle and i really like the way it handles now i think the handling problems on the xl are to do with the large sidewall on the terra pin tires. so i say go the savage xl route
