Savage x or ss

My buddy wants to buy a savage , i got the xl . I'm trying to find out what the better engine is , the k4.6 in the ss or the f4.6 in the X ?

The F4.6 is the updated version of the K4.6 so I would go with the X. The Savage X is a great truck and your buddy will be very happy with it.

ya i like the f4.6 better then the k,plus another bonus is the f engine doesnt have the midrange needle if i remember correctly so thats one less worry as they tend to "wander", so most just end up sealing it in place and forgetting about it!!

Xss comes with some upgraded parts including dirt bonz tires and the hpi polished alum pipe. if he wants to build a kit and learn about the truck, then the Xss is the way to go.

if he wants to take it out of the box and run it, then the X 4.6 is the better choice.

Personally when I bought my first x I went with rtr because of the mill because some of the upgrades on the kit are garbage including the brakes and dogbones.
