Ok here is the scoop! i have been raceing my friend who had revos (3.3) i have a savy with an :axial: .28. well my friend got sick of repairing his Revo's all the time (every race) so he is selling all three of his Revos and already bought a new T-max (3.3). I was having no problem keeping up with and beating his Revos and think it will be just as easy to whip his new max. but wanted your thoughts. will the same mill on a bigger truck slow him down????

idk about slow him down, but the revo has a lower cog & roll center than the T-Maxx so handling should be an issue.

sorry whats idk. but you think he will have his hands full against my savy for sure

idk = i don't know

i say he will have his hands full only caz a revo should be able to mop the floor with a T-Maxx caz the Revo is designed more like a racer than the T-Maxx so he's taking away racing advantage by going from the Revo to a MT

idk means i don't know.. and frddys right the revo was designd for faster cornering with less roll over. the t max is taller top heavy .. and its got weak a frames so if you were to colide with his t max uhhhhh your surely to destrroy it lol...happy crushing lol

Yes!!!! I'm gonna destroy a t-max..sounds fun..i don't want to take him out too quick though, he minght get mad and quit running nitro with me lol..:Crazy:

I couldnt find dyno results on a axial .28 quickly but, most will agree
the HPI K has a similiar power profile so here is a comparison
of the two trucks.

Savage = 13 pounds
HPI K6 4.6 1.32hp @22250rpm

Tmaxx = 10 pounds
trx 3.3 1.06 hp @ 30500 rpm

simple mathmatics says the tmaxx should win

power to weight - tmaxx win
peak rpm - tmaxx win
durability to finish race - savage hands down

In all fairness the revo should have been winning but if he couldn't bet you with the revo he won't be able to with a tmaxx.

well now i know every one thinks the revo should be able to beat a savage BUT not mine, not everytime atleast, my savage is way faster than any revo that has been to my track. now we are no pros witch could change things up if we were. but last weekend it was my savage .28 vs one reve 2.5 and two revos 3.3
i beat them all hands down 3 out of 3 races. every time i would roll it id flip it over and catch up to them with the quickness. its like I'm twice as fast as any of them even in the yard or on payvment! i cant be the only one with a savage this fast. their are two savages that also come over to my track and they cant hang not even against the 2.5 revo
i do understand what everyone means about the revos cog and handeling..
but the sheir power and speed of my .28 puts them to shame even my revo friends will tell you that. so chalk one up for HPI

just to let you know i have lowered my savage as low as possibale took off as much weight as i could + some other mods for better steering and all around performance

I rember giving you some advice on lowering your truck and taking the roll cage off of it.

I was giving you a complament if you are beting the revo's you are a better driver than them. Speed and power means nothing if you can't controll it. I run against buggies and can hold my own against them with my savage. Skill means just as much if not more than power.

Great job keep racing and if those revo's or t-maxx's catch up to you run them over.:highfive:

yep thats me and thanks again, lowering it helped out the most. and i know revos are the better racers but given the right driver and right savage anything is posable. so keep that in mind Savage owners we can defeat the revos:stickspank:

and a high five back @ ya man:highfive:

I owned a T-Maxx once....hump died at wot, rode straight for about 5 seconds (felt like 5 minutes) and smashed into a large curb...needless to say it was a walk away, took my rx and walked away

well except crash all of you were right. the t-max was out for the first time yesterday funny thing is i did not have time to get a vid.
see my friend shows up and decides he is gonna do acouple pratice laps science he has never had it on the track!! to make a short story shorter i dident even have time to start my savage, four jumps with his t max and the frount skid plate/frame broke right in half leaving his whole front end barely hanning on:lmao4: so a trip to the LHS and two hours later we were back on the track. fired both trucks up for are first race of the day. everything was going great I'm about 1/2 lap ahead on the third lap when i hear his t max die, i continue and finish the race. well it turns out he had landed on his top and his idle went out of controll.. a closer look at the truck and we find the bottom of the motor broke almost in half:lmao3::lmao3::lmao4::lmao4::bigsmilie:
i cant belive traxxas would make such a cheap peice ofpooppoop
i will never own a traxxas! they are soo popular their product should be alot better quality...ill keep you posted in the future on his (t-max ofpoop)

sorry to hear your buddies truck broke, especially on the first out.

hopefully he doesn't get frustrated with the hobby as a whole & goes for a savage.

Tmax's are prone to snap a bulk off. Not a shock to me. Was this new ? what was he doing ripping on it? Noob ?

I said the savage would have the durablility to last to the end of the race,
inferring the tmaxx would not.

Its not youre fault when he gets it going long enough to whip you
Its physics.:lmao4:

hey i know its all fun and games but to clear this up I'm running in two wheel drive do to a blown frount diff and was still 1/2 a lap ahead before he broke again..my savy was chewing him up, off the line, on the straights and in the corners!! so screw physics they are not right when your dealing with after market parts and a ton of mods..that alone changes all your physics.. not to be a jerk but arn't your physics baised on factory setups????NHF:dmt:freakout

lol... talk him into getting a savy by letting him run yours once..done! sold! lol ohhh wanted to add... maybe the next time your out after the first half lap and hid truck snapps again. just offer him up your truck to jump around with ..but do it with out a huge smurk if possible lol i know it would be hard for me not to grin so big my jaws hurt lol so he wont think your being a smart elleck lol and maybe he will get a savvy next pay day lol...good luck keep us informed lol

good point. switch trucks for a race and don't even say anything. well, unless he's not a good driver, lol.

well by reading the thread the truck is less then 4 days old... no way that mill is close to run in. I would expect a run in mill to pwn a mill that has not got a gall threw it yet. A stock Xss can kill a revo if you can drive. the truck is only a small part of it.. Noting on that track looks big enough to break even a T-max. What do you mean by tame it ?

I'm out of this one

~Crash is on his best behavior now~

Savage Rule.

lol if you run in rear wheel drive long enough you can accomplish alot with control on the ground...i been running 1 of my trucks in rear wheel drive awhile now ... runs like a stadium truck. but don't got very good control on big jumps.but on flats and tracks once you get used to it .you can tear it up.... bash on.

Thats a bummer about the TMaxx, I wouldn't have been happy if it was mine. . . but I'm also glad I went with the Savage over the TMaxx.

Yea I do feel for the tmaxx guy. That is a real bummer to buy a truck and have it do that on you. Major fail traxxis
