savage 25 tuning questions

k guys i got a wierd one here I'm working on a friends savage 25 with a stock motor this thing will not stay running ive had it run for a minute at the most. i've sealed up the engine as per all threads in this forum. found the steel ring on the carb where the pinch bolt grabs it to be loose, changed carb (had one off my old 4.1 same size motor looks identical), reset needles to factory and this thing will just die like it was shut off . but it will refire instantly and run for another min with no power. pinch feels good , no forign objects inside motor cant figure it out if i lean hsn it wont start. any tips would be apreciated

glow plug anygood... air filter clean.... or is it just worn out...

new glow plug and a clean filter I'm thinking its gona need a mill

ya sounds like it may be time to retire the poor 25 lol "nitronutzz" on ebay has the 4.6 engines for like $130-140 which is a good deal in my opinion!!!!

its not my truck and ill have to see what the owner wants to do with it . he is just disappointed as he just bought it used . and will fire right up so he heard it running but it couldnt be driven as the diffs were blown in it .

lol old owner didnt know it was gona do it it was running fine when the 2nd diff let go i was there.

a ha got it tuned bad bearing seal on front of motor and a tranny that was in second. saw a post on how to check for leaks using water found the air leak so i changed the bearing seal from the ol 4.1 got it to run. it was still boggy checked tranny insta shift into second ajusted and runs ok . returned it to the owner and he did this

ya got a tank and a half out of it. then he wrecked it. i heard the ckack 30 yards away lol did i ever laugh. but he isnt to worried he took my xl plates with him to work and he is gona trace them out and cnc new ones for himself (he is an aluminum machinist)
