Hi my husband has the savage K 5.9 and he has changed it from a rota start to a pullstart but it's no turning the engine over at all. Please can anyone advise him on what he can do. TIA

He most likely installed the one way bearing on the back of the engine backwards. Like the name suggests it only spins the shaft one way, if you put it in backwards it will just spin. The part of the one way bearing with the silver metal lip on it goes towards the front of the truck

He didn't buy a new One way bearing all he did was take the rota start off and put the pull on

It most likely came off with the roto start, they like to get stuck in there. Then it probably fell out, and he probably didnt happen to see which way it went

Did he take the back plate off, because there is a small spring loaded pin in the crank that the starter catches. It pops out quite easily when taken apart.

Ok, Probably the one way bearing, check that it isn’t slipping. If it is try spraying a little penetrating oil in, put in on the shaft and turn it a few times. Take it off clean it then see off it works.
