I know that burnin up spur gears is part of the game but I find everytime I try to mod my truck it becomes very unreliable and I end up going back. I mostly burn through spur gears when this happens. I originaly tried such a simple mod as 55 weight shock oil. The truck got really bouncy and I was the spur gear killer. They would last for only maybe two to three tanks and sometimes not even that. Went back to 25 weight and everything went back to normal....truck was great. I decided to put in the aluminum adjustable shocks, RPM offset wheels with masher low profile tires, a tuned pipe, and a golden horizons heat sink motor mount. The truck ate a dog bone , a spur gear, and a diff in less than half a tank. Then I got her all fixed up and took it out again and it burned out another spur gear in about a quarter tank. The gear mesh is fine, I have had multiple shops and people make sure I am not screwing that up. Any ideas? It is getting really frustrating to not be able to drive or mod my truck. In stock trim it runs fine.
