Removing Paint

A couple of days ago, a guy I knew gave me a few bodies. The only problem is that he painted them himself, and it did not turn out too good. The bodies themselves are in perfect condition though. Is there any way that I can get the old paint off and then repaint it myself?

Will that harm the body at all?

try varsol it takes off paint very well. or if not you can use goof off but I'm not sure how that will react with the lexan so just try it on a little spot first

oven cleaner!

seriously... i mostly do military models as a hobby, and when a tank or plane had a cactus paint job.. you could use oven cleaner to strip the paint but would leave the plastic alone! i do reccomend a test spot though!.... cant be too carefull as i haven't tried on polycarb.

depends on the brand of paint but DA will work with parma paint

easy off oven cleaner, takes a few minutes but works like a charm

don't use acetone, it makes the body brittle. Found that out the hard way

Brake fluid is what I have been told. I've never tried it, I just buy new bodies. Its might make the lexan cloudy but it might not make a difference depending on the paint scheme.
