I wouldn't ever say that an Axial is faster than a picco. The reason I recommend them to others is because I have had great luck with them and am thrilled with the price/performance ratio. They aren't made as well as picco's but I haven't had any issues because of the cheaper materials used. Mine is going on 10 gallons and my dad's on his 4th. Some people love their axials and some people love their piccos.
