RB928 issue

OK the 928 is broke in and then some. now i can't get the temps over 170F. At stock needle settings at sea level running O'Donnell 30% I clocked the truck at 47MPH on the radar. I am running 47/18 ratio. I'm also running the STS 702 pipe. I was pulling wheelies in all the gears. Back to back high speed passes and the motor still will not get Hot. at 1/2 tank I started tuning. it leaned out before it hit 190F. Do I need to go to a HOT plug? I'm running a number 7 now? Stupid motor.

Is it running ok? A hot plug would probably help a bit, not sure if it will raise it that high. How many head shims are you running?

Ya it is running ok. Rich as all get out. only an1/8th of a turn in from stock. didn't want to try to tune with super low temps. running .7mm on the shims. stock is .6mm and having back fires. talked to RB Concepts said that i needed to add .1mm for every 5% over 25% fuel. I'm running 30% so .7mm. If it is running that hard rich I'm screwed when I lean it out and the temps come up.

that will work for the short term. maybe long term if i can't do anything else.

Never will i run 20% again. Just popped a hot turbo plug in. Got the temps up 219F on the button and 225F on the side of the block at the combustion dome. Very nice runs. I now have to go up on the cb. 47/18 is to low. Maybe go 19 or 20 on the cb.
