I'm looking to upgrade my mill to a race spec mill. Problem is, I don't know what I need and what are my options. I've seen a Novarossi run at the track and was impressed with it, but that was on a 8th scale buggy.

redneck, you have an LRP .30? you might be the first one on the site to have one. You need to tell us more about it. alot of people have been asking but no one knows about it.

I will be breaking in my LRP ZR.30 this friday and hope to have it broke in by sunday. Mine is in a plain old rtr x with big bores, but I'm hoping it really ripps. I will post my findings.

You want top end for the track stay away from the LRP 30 has all the grunt from buds posts but lacks on top like most 30+ size mills. Good for the average basher! For a good racer Id go with any stage two .28 modded mill. Picco LRP Nova. I have all 3 and happy with the trio. My lrp and nova are mild mods more for the track than all out speed. My Picco is drag modded (ERCM) and not for the track but could be used if I reduced the carb insert. If you do plan to mod it to race Id go only Nova and Picco.

Thanks for all of the info. I'm leaning towards the Nova and having it modded by Robin. Prolly going with the stage 2 mod. All I need now is a mid tank mod and Ill be set. Just need to save a lil bit in the mean time.

You won't doubt the Nova. I had a Nova engine and had great lifetime and performance. Never had it modded though. Couldn't imagine how much faster it could've been.

Would a .21 work? There are hardly any .28 on ebay.

you don't want to go to a .21. the .28's will beat you up on the track. stay with a .28 mill. you can go to SMF or tower and find one

There is nothing such thing as a supid question... Ofna is the manuacture of the picco...:resp:
