pull start

ok, so when I bought my savage in late feburary, it came with a pull start. I used it until it broke[ the string snapped]. I had a rotostart, but that went through owb's like crazy. so I decided to get a string for my old pullstart. however, I couldn't find the handle, so I just bought a whole new assembly. now, mounths later, I want to put my old pullstart on my dad"s savage. any idea on what to use for a handle?

Buy a new pullstart with proper handle? Use a piece of wooden dowel, drill hole in center, tie knot in string?

Yea, pretty much anything you can grab works. There are replacement parts out there too, like this:
