Anyone here have experience with using different carbs in the picco .28 other than sh/LRP carbs?

Why not the sh/lrp carb? I heard that you didnt like them, but why? I know you really like the LRP mill. It is a 9mm. Why not give it a shot?

I do happen to have an OS.30 on my bench. Does it have the carb your looking to try? I'll see if it fits.

Well no go on the OS. It is a 9mm carb. No interchangable venturi, but the base is wider than the picco. I didnt measure it, but theres noy way to make it work.

we put a 5.9 carb in mine to try it and it worked......that has a large venturi Bank.....might want to try it...........

it isn't the same as the k4.6.......the k5.9 has a bigger carb. if you get one....watch out for that midrange screw!!

Bank if you don't mind my asking, Why are you trying to replace the Picco carb with a different brand???

For the same reason yours did. It ate itself apart. I fixed it once but looks like I didn't take the burs down enough. Robin had told me to go easy on it so I did. Looks like a Lil too easy as is locked up on me again. I'm looking for a cheap but good carb. Think I have my eyes set on turning down a rossi carb but IDK yet. If I can find a LRP non pull start carb I may try it. If I don't like it Ill replace my fixed carb on the lrp with it. Id like a high end carb though.

I didn't realise you were having on going issues to this degree, I would have put more effort into finding a solution to the problem. I know of the air leak problem and have posted threads on how to fix it but this throttle binding has never come up with any other engines I have done.

I can easly solve the problem by sending you a used 9mm picco carb that is flawless and smooth as silk from my personal collection, if you pay the shipping. I would also like to have your carb in return so I can address the problem and make sure it will not be an issue for other customers in the future.

Thanks.

Robin.

Talk about some Customer Service!!! Don't know too many people that would do that....

A+ Robin!!!

LMAO and when did you decide this. You knew it was still smoked. It locks up after the mill gets up to temps. I don't want your carb but when I fix it you can have the junk one to look at.

I helped you through the last fix, I thought the problem was solved. I would have offered you help had I known we didn't fix the problem the first time!
