p3 or lrp

I'm replacing the f4.6 i have an lrp on the way but someone said the p3 was a better engine lasted longer.. Which do i recomend. ill just send the lrp back if the p3 is a better motor.

I have heard some great things about the LRP, so I don't think that you could have gone wrong with your choice. I personally have the Picco, and the only reason that I chose it over the LRP is because of how long they are supposed to last. But honestly I don't think you could be disappointed either way you went.

The picco is faster, the lrp is easier to tune. Both are good engines. When I say the p3 is faster that in no way means the lrp is a slouch.

I have the regular head, and I hear that 10+ gallons for the picco is no big deal. I'm not sure for the lrp.

Then LRP is made by SH engines. The same guys who brought you the xtm 24.7 pro and mach.26. Its funny when I started in this hobby it was Picco.26 vs. XTM 24.7 pro. Now its the LRP spec3 vs. Picco .28. The decision now is the same as it was 5 yrs ago... Picco(faster) vs. SH(fast and easy).

I would suggest to take advertised HP on any R/C motor with a grain of salt. It's not like full scale motors with ASE HP ratings.
You will hear good and bad on any motor and it all comes down to what you want. Just because someone had problems with a certain brand it doesn't mean that you will too. Like someone said here before there are plenty out there that think all HPI products including Savage sux.:duh:

Really? I got one of the LRP's on the way. Should of had it already but that's another story. I don't want it if I can't get parts.

You can pull up part explosions for any of their engines. I you have a spec2 pull up the shp6 If you have a spec3 pull up the 8 port engine.
