I was told the one way bearing for the roto start can be cleaned to keep it gripping what do you use and how do you clean it?

You can use some Carb cleaner or brake clean to clean it out, a part's washer works as well or Nitro cleaner. I have never had the OWB in my Rolo go (Knock on wood) but I am sure it can happen.

+1 denatured alcohol although it is more expensive than parts cleaner. One thing I would recommend to you to extend the life of your OWB is not to hold your roto start and keep trying to turn over your engine. if it floods your going to stress it out. bump the roto in short bursts like a 3 shot burst from an ak in cs. it will lengthen the life of your OWB, just ask the pope nj about his luck with OWB and rotos.

Also take a good look inside the OWB for wear and tear. Twice I have had issues with the starting shaft that goes through the OWB. I have the k5.9 and that shaft seems to be a bit soft and it gets damaged easily and sometimes your OWB will still be good but it can't grip the shaft because the diameter of the shaft is worn down. Better to replace a $5 part rather than a $20 part LOL.
